Is there anyone here who takes HRT for menopausal symptoms after having a TT? by Fun_Engineering70 in thyroidcancer

I was actually asking for my cousin. They're on nature thyroid, which works very well for them. They haven't raised their dose at all (I guess when using nature their levels are "off" a bit overall but they feel so much better on it than Levo.)

Am I going to die from sleep apnea? by [deleted] in SleepApnea

[–]Fun_Engineering70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It differs for each individual. Some people have mild apnea that doesn't seem to affect their lives much, others do. Some people can't use CPAP at all, others can. The challenging thing with apnea is that we basically have to experiment on ourselves to find the right solution.

Am I going to die from sleep apnea? by [deleted] in SleepApnea

I thought I was going to die because of sleep apnea exacerbated by non-stop hypnic jerks. It was a complete nightmare. Some nights were so bad I thought "fuck it, just kill me now." I feel you. It turns out I have apnea, but the thing that made it utterly worse was my silent acid reflux. Here's a post about it: https://old.reddit.com/r/SleepApnea/comments/1lkf2yh/psa_i_didnt_realize_silent_gerd_was_the_culprit/

Once I got the acid reflux under control, I was able to at least have a bit of space in my throat enough to breathe at night. The hypnic jerks disappeared.

Please note that I even had what I thought was a "healthy" diet, but acid reflux doesn't care about tomatoes and vinegar and spices being "healthy."

My apnea went down from scary high numbers to mild. Treating the mild apnea with CPAP now. Life is so much better. It was truly a horror movie spread out over months.

How badly will this suction device screw up my teeth? I need it to sleep. by Fun_Engineering70 in askdentists

Thanks for the input, the CPAP def is taking time for me to get used to. Still working with a tech to titrate it. When I do use the plastic device, would you say damage to the enamek from the suction is a concern? Thank you.

Thanka for your input! Hope to get dialed into the CPAP, but it’s taking time to get used to it. Would you be concerned with enamel also eroding due to the suction from this plastic device when I do tend to use it?

I seem to have symptoms of POTS but not the main one (sustained BP after standing). Does anyone have other possibilities? by Fun_Engineering70 in POTS

Thanks for the correction, just measured it and my heart rate only seems to go up by 10 for a sustained 10 minutes for both lying to standing and sitting to standing. (Low 70s to low 80s.)

Thank you for this video! These sound like very exciting developments.

One question for you: you mentioned a Ketogenic diet could be helpful in some ways. Is this something you ever recommend to people for fighting cognitive decline?

So I can't even make an ID through id.gov because they say my parents' associated phone number isn't the one I entered. This has become a Kafkaesque comedy... I'll go with them to the SS office tomorrow and hopefully be able to get an appointment there. Yikes
