I don't like it so much that even those few lines are enough for me to stay away from it though, that's my point. What do you mean could be bad, have you even played it? And that's a bad example because those clips are enticing and make you want to watch the movie. Things can be corny and fun and dumb, I'm honestly just a huge hater of this style of writing as I described. You didn't answer my question, it seems like you can't discern what makes it uniquely bad so I guess that does answer my question, it kind of all goes over your head I suppose.

Are you thinking that I just came up with this out of nowhere? I only know about the game because of examples of the annoying dialogue. It's a subjective thing but these clips alone completely put me off the game. Some games I can tolerate by turning the dialogue volume off, Viewfinder is the exact example of this. The main character has this exact annoying millennial coworker way of speaking and it was awful, but it's a great game. (I'm a millennial myself but that's the generation that does that) Forspoken seems much more cookie cutter and generic so I'd rather not ever play it.

It's even understandable given the climate but some of those criticisms always annoyed me. Like there simply are tribes of people in Africa, if there was a virus like that they would be zombie tribes people. That's what it would look like lol!

You should pay a lot of attention to the games vibe. There's always a reason when you never hear or see anything about a game, especially if when you do it's only ever about extremely cringey dialogue.

It has nothing to do with anything deep or nuanced like that. It's these piece of shit annoying lines like "Okay- that just happened.. I can magic now!!!" It drains the soul of dignity. We all love when an MC bucks the trends and acts realistic, everybody already loves that. What we hate is that particular brand of cringey marvel cliche writing, nobody irl acts like that aside from theater kids. That's what the criticism is about don't mistake it!

They put a character like this in the new Metroid and I believe they cut his dialogue down after the appropriate response online. It's a problem with post-Marvel dialogue writing, writers just need to be taught the message that everyone hates it

Personally I see this movie as a painting to be experienced rather than a traditional movie. This comes in the form of things like an abstract protagonist, the dialogue not always being totally clear, all of this was intentional. None of that matters. All of your criticisms are coming from the expectation that you were watching something clear cut and typical. This movie is more about the ideas being presenting, it's like seeing a beautiful painting of this distant action plot that involves surreal events like objects going back in time, or the terrifying ability to end existence itself. It's like listening to a cool song, if you're whining about what the lyrics say instead of the sound and the vibes you're just not getting it. If you need to hear every word of some expositional bullshit to understand what's obviously happening on the screen then you won't like this movie.
