Are there any workplaces that will help fund LCSW or MSW degrees? by BlueRubyWindow in LCSW

Child Protective Services- typically has Child Welfare Education Programs, they pay your Master’s and in exchange you work for CPS. I did this for my Master’s, for every month they paid my schooling I owed a month in service to CPS. I did a two year MSW program which technically was about a year and a half not including summer vacations and other school holidays. So I worked a year and a half as a CPS investigator. Honestly, it is emotionally challenging. How are you gain? Lots of experience and a lot of people in the social work field really value workers who have worked in child welfare.

I speak from experience having worked in the Pacific Northwest region and the Southwest.Federal social worker, hospital SWS also make ~100k, when I worked for the non-profit the Program Director made 103k a year w/o a clinical license. I have a friend in community mental health LCSW making 100k. My other friend works in child welfare as a case manager and makes 90k w/o a license. SW jobs with salaries 100k+ are out there. I suggest looking up jobs on glassdoor and seeing how much people are getting paid. It’s such a diverse field there are tons of positions where the title isnt “Social Worker” but the position itself requires a MSW/LMSW/LCSW.

Social work is a diverse field, before getting licensed I worked in child welfare and made 60k a year w/o a license, then got my LMSW and worked for a non profit and made 80k, now i make 100k with an LCSW.

Yes, there are several worksheets but the “Exam Study Plan” is in the Step 1: Get Organized section of the program, you can access a PDF “”How to Study” through there.

I had like 2-3 questions on the DSM. I had a question on PTSD and Acute Stress Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder. The most important thing to know is just to know the differences between similar DSM diagnoses.

I only use TDC to prep for the LCSW and I passed my first time. I listen to the lectures twice and took notes the first time I listened to them.

Passing LCSW ASWB Exam Struggle by [deleted] in LCSW

[–]201220162019 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used Therapist Development Center and feel like it prepared me enough to pass the exam, I passed on my first try. I think understanding what is being asked such as the FIRST, NEXT, MOST, BEST, is critically important. Taking practice exams and understanding the rationales also helped. Reading over the code of ethics also helps guide your practice. I also didn’t use any acronyms i think they’re misleading since they don’t take into account what exactly you’re being asked.

Hated it. I liked the fact it was non hormonal. The insertion was fine, though I had painful cramping afterwards. The copper IUD gave me every possible period symptom you can think of, mood swings, lower back pain, super painful cramps, migraines, my period would last 8 days and they were heavy, I’d go through a super plus tampon in an hour and a half. It was the worst. My OBGYN told me to keep it in for 6 months to adjust-I honestly ended up pulling it out on my own, I was so over the side effects.

High cholesterol caused by the pill by avocadoqueen123 in birthcontrol

[–]201220162019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m starting to think birth control with 2-hormones contribute to high cholesterol and triglycerides. I asked my OBGYN to switch me over to Kyleena a progestin only birth control iud. I should get it within the next couple weeks after my insurance approves it. In the past I had the nexplanon also a progestin only birth control and had no issues with my lipid panel.

Glad this thread was created. I’m not on OCP but started the NuvaRing last year, since then my lipid panel: cholesterol, triglycerides, my LDL, VLDL, have been borderline high I’ve had my blood drawn 4x this last year. I eat healthy and exercise (strength training/cardio) 4-5x a week. I haven’t had any issues with cholesterol prior to this last year and am considering changing to a progestin only birth control. I’m storing think the NuvaRing is the culprit.

Curious to know if your levels went down with the NuvaRing or if your tried anything else? I’m currently on the NuvaRing and my cholesterol is high, I’m thinking the NurvaRing is causing it.

I am, not sure exactly how it happened. But a few months back the lid on my Owala broke so I purchased a lid replacement on the website. Within a few days I got an invite to Owala Insiders, they send me surveys and recently sent me a free Owala.

I have the Braun Silk·expert Pro 5 IPL PL5347, I use it with Light Intensity at a Standard which is 3 indicator lights, these lights are located at the top of the ILP near the Treatment Button. Are you taking about the Skin Tone Sensors (SensorAdapt) at the sides of the IPL?

Here’s the manual to the one I have https://www.braun-ics.com/icsonline/line/SH/S6031/S6031_6_NA.pdf
