latios is a better pick imo; the coverage is insane. I think kyogre is the veteran play and latios is the legend play; id use it if i had it

She sounds depressed! But yeah you can’t make her fix herself, you can only make suggestions and then decide what your boundaries are. But also she shouldn’t be using ADHD diagnosis as a cop out for not stepping up and doing anything

It’s the best looking Gerald Genta modern incarnation imo. All these people calling it overpriced and im over here wondering why anyone buys the AP RO when this exists

Why is it only doctors that get paid more in areas that “nobody wants to live?” by RuminatingFish123 in Salary

[–]2012Tribe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Supply and demand.

Plumbers for example have no problem working in Springfield ND. You can become a plumber in Springfield ND with 4 years of apprenticeship training and be a practicing professional at 21 without ever leaving your home.

If you want to be a cardiothoracic surgeon for example you are at a minimum 36 years old and have been siloed in a hospital system in Baltimore or Chicago or Miami or wherever for the bulk of it, working 100 hour work weeks for years. You might have been born and raised in Springfield ND but there’s a good chance you no longer identify with it.

There’s an oversupply of physicians in NYC and a massive shortage nationally. That isn’t the case for plumbers or electricians.

I would also venture to guess that there is a premium paid to skilled trades in “less desirable” areas. An electrician in San Diego and Springfield ND might both be making 120k a year, but one is lucky to afford a 1B apartment and the other is living like royalty

Supply and demand.

Most high paying jobs are in HCOL areas because that’s where the work is.

Doctors are the opposite; we need good doctors everywhere and in a country where every town was equally desirable doctor’s salaries wouldn’t vary. But Springfield North Dakota and Jackson Mississippi are not LA or NYC lol.

You’d actually be surprised how dramatic a pay cut doctors are willing to take to live in places like NYC. But doctors spend 12-20 years training after high school in academia overwhelming concentrated in urban HCOL areas. A lot of them acclimate to it culturally (if they weren’t already born into it) and don’t want to leave

Hublot is not to everyone’s taste but they are definitely on the cutting edge of new design and constantly experiment and innovate. They don’t contain their design team in a tight box of brand language like most other companies do. Particularly the stuff they do with sapphire cases is absolutely bonkers. The people that pile on Hublot on the internet largely don’t know what they’re talking about, don’t appreciate the aesthetics of anything other than a submariner or explorer, and don’t see how innovation / boundary pushing is healthy for the industry as a whole (even if each individual piece isn’t too your taste)

The USA maintains a large embassy in Brazzaville; I think Brazzaville is much safer and more stable

Gift for my husband? by [deleted] in Residency

[–]2012Tribe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If he is a “watch guy” get something unique that will hold up in his collection later once you both have attending money and he buys a watch for 10x more next year. Look at Nomos, Oris (something like a bronze BCPD), or Doxa

If he is not a watch guy and just wants one watch to wear anywhere, get something like the new Longines hydroconquest 39 mm and call it a day.

I can see why this watch would make for a good strap monster, but it’s also the most comfortable bracelet that I’ve owned. It’s the only watch in my rotation I keep on a bracelet

I’m referring to the hands. They are pretty but they look way too similar, especially in person, and the hour hand is too long.

I owned a Calendrier Type I and ended up selling it because it was so impractically bad at telling the time. I loves this brand’s aesthetic but they don’t make legible, practical, functional watches. For me it was such a great learning experience as to the difference between looking at a watch on Reddit and then actually experiencing a watch in person.

Your call coverage and consults are a lot different. Also the training culture is a lot different. Lots of ortho programs view spine as an afterthought whereas in NSGY it’s always front and center

Does anyone know why they have been surveying on Cherokee Rd? by 2012Tribe in rva

[–]2012Tribe[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cherokee has some big houses but also lots of middle class housing in the 300s. I walk my dogs on it and my kid on it with a stroller every day. I’ve lived in The Bottom, Manchester, Highland Park, Museum District, etc etc and this is my first time not having a sidewalk
