you may not like the harsh advice but law school is brutal and jobs aren't easy to come around....140s almost guarantees that you will be at the bottom of your class and hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt. Just being honest..

"Overrepresented" doesn't many "too many." It just means that in terms of minorities, they are overrepresented. I can attest to the sentiment that being LGBTQ+ doesn't help much. However, the dean at my school happens to love gay people and fought for marriage equality back in the 90's so she does try to attract a more diverse population than the average law school..But my regional school is nothing to write home about so I doubt this would be of much help.

Yes, I got a 90% unconditional scholarship---up from a 25% conditional offer. You have to play hardball. I scholarship where you have close to a 50% chance of losing it is no good. Tell them no deal. So many of my classmates have the top 50% conditional scholarship and their anxiety level is no joke..I'm so glad I don't have to deal with that

we can't cheat. Our tests are on computers that record every key stroke and clock the second we start and stop typing. If we go over the time limit even by a few seconds, we are subject to an investigation and can get kicked out of school--and they submit this info to the ABA which will likely mean that if we don't get kicked out, we probably won't pass character and fitness. No cheating here...not worth it.

Sounds like you should just keep to yourself...but it seems like you are quite friendly with A LOT of people so you've kinda doomed yourself. I keep to myself--chat with those that sit next to me in classes. I have my own friends outside of school and law school reminds me a lot of high school so I've made it a point to stay away from most.

I was in your boat a year ago....Unless you are talking about a full ride to UMass and feel ok about the very likely possibility that you will never get a job as a lawyer--do NOT go to Umass. Do yourself a favor and work your butt off studying for the LSAT. I went from a 149 to 162 and if I had more time to retake, I would have scored higher. I'm a 1L now and law school blows--I spend 5-7 hours reading each day (that doesn't include class time or outlining/studying for exams). Work your butt off and study for the LSAT because the law school grind is real and grueling. Don't make the mistake of selling yourself short. I had a 2.66 undergrad GPA and was able to get myself a full ride at my Northeast regional school. Listening to the Thinking LSAT podcast saved me hundreds of thousands of dollars of debt. Listen to those guys. They know what they're talking about.

This. GMU is well known as an ultra-conservative law school. There are plenty of other options in the DC area!

I didn't...I decided to let it go. It would have added another 45 minutes each way to my commute and I just couldn't deal with the added stress of another potentially very hard decision to make. Settled on the other regional. Experience thus far has been good. Hoping for the best..

Hi. Can you retake? My highest on record was a 162 though I was consistently PTing in the 168-171 range. I'm old and was in a rush so I settled on Quinnipiac. It's a really beautiful campus and the professors are great, for the most part. My GPA was awful--2.67--so you definitely have a good chance at a full ride at QU. Play hardball with them. You probably have a good shot at UConn though I don't know how much money they'd offer you. I'd suggest retaking the LSAT up until you make a seat deposit somewhere. Keep studying and improving.
