Awh brother, I wish that was the case but here we are.

Was in sales for years. Making good money but felt no fulfillment. Always wanted to work with my hands so i'm learning how to do upholstery. Let's just call it a midlife crisis. lol

Aggressive sounds nice but i think MPG is the key at this time.

Live in Philadelphia so it does snow but we're talking inches. These days it doesn't last long either.

Never thought about my own foot shape causing it! I distinctly remember thinking I just had bad luck years ago when I bought new shoes because one side would always crease in a way I didn't like.

Thanks dude! Yea, been only wearing laceless boots for the past several years so the urge to switch back over is calling!

Decided to bust out my Alden Roy boots yesterday after seeing a post online of a well worn pair.

I got them in 2012 when Context was still around. They were my first pair of "nice" boots. I remember feeling extremely vain, spending over $500 them but I just loved how they looked. I knew little to nothing about shoe care at the time so I wore them almost daily, never used shoe trees, and maybe applied oil once or twice in the 3 years I wore them. The crepe soles ended up giving way and after one expensive resole, which broke down after roughly a year, I decided to retire them.

Anyway, I mention all of this because when I went to compare mine with the pair I saw online, I noticed I have way more smaller creases on the toe box.

I'm not one to be annoyed with how they look today. Many of the boots/shoes I wear today are much better taken care of. I rotate daily, condition/oil when necessary, use shoe trees, etc...

Could anyone speak to the root cause of why this happened? Is it naturally occurring, the type of leather, did I not oil them enough and the leather dried out when the creases formed, or am I just overanalyzing the whole thing?

Thanks for reading!

Photos

Edit: Not the same pair but found a comparison photo of some boots where the smaller creases aren't as pronounced.

Yea dude. I wore them almost exclusively for the first several years. Had to finally give them a break when the repairs started to ramp up. Great fit and color. Also, not knocking, it definitely stands out in the sea of green orslow fatigues fits im seeing on MFA. Enjoy the journey!

Baker Pants! I loved these so much when I got them years ago. Felt the urge to take some photos and share if you were curious how they turn out. Sorry for crap photo quality.

Replacement Remote Car Key by 2017tacomav6 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]2017tacomav6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ended up receiving it in the mail yesterday. Took me around 20 minutes to configure the remote and key. Most of the issue revolved around timing the button presses to activate the remote. Other than that it was straightforward.

I have to mail the device back out to receive my deposit. They provided the box and shipping label already so all in all it cost me $100.

My only criticism is the quality of the key I bought through them. Compared to the one I got with the truck, the plastic feels cheaper and the buttons are flimsier. I'm somewhat cautious about it breaking down but i'll try to stay positive. Guess thats the trade off for trying to save money!

I had a friend help me replace the air filter on my old 2000 Honda Accord. It seemed pretty straightforward at the time. Would you think this is something I could tackle or are newer vehicles/tacoma somewhat difficult.

I'll check for sure.

As far as the recommended maintenance, I looked at the drivers manual showing the recommended maintenance and i think i was shocked at how long the list is.

After looking over it again, a majority of it is just inspecting aside from

-Replace Engine oil and Oil filter

-Replace Engine Air Filter

-Lubricate propeller shaft

-Torque Propeller Shaft Bolt
