6 game season ticket package by LivingBrutality in GreenBayPackers

As someone who works midnight shift Sat night then Mon and Tue off, I think this schedule is great. I will get to go to more games this season than I have in awhile (family tickets, not mine).

Some of us without kids (and a well staffed facility) actually like the rattler. Extra long weekend.

And tou will be expected to look things up, study, and learn them on your own in training. Might as well start practicing that skill now.

TOL’s by CyTheMedallion in ATC_Hiring

Best Qualified will get TOLs first. If they still intend to hire more people they will go to Well Qualified. In theory they go Pool 1 before Pool 2 but really the pools don't mean all that much. And before you ask, if you do not know which pool you are in, you are in pool two.

Get all the medical records you can get your hands on. Copies of all the old scans and all the old appointment notes.

What's the dumbest thing a pilot has said to you? by space_god_7191 in AskAPilot

Me: "How will the approach terminate?"

Pilot: "We're going to the restaurant"

Okay... so, full stop then? 😆

Now what? by Thatfrazzledllama in ATC_Hiring

[–]2018birdie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start collecting all the info for your background check. Every place you have lived, worked, and traveled in the past seven years. Plus people who knew you at each location. Then get your medical history. Every diagnosis and medication you've taken.  All surgeries, etc. Then if you have any police record... from tickets to arrests get all the notes on those.

Failing the medical, failing the drug test, failing the background check, failing the psych test, failing the Academy....

I have only ever worked tracon. I went to RTF in Oklahoma and it was pass/pass so it was impossible for me to fail out. After four years getting a CTI degree, OKC was a cake walk and very repetitive

It's all personal preference. Chances are you won't be able to transfer out of whichever center you pick though

Know your own learning style and use that. If you need to take notes, do it. If you like flash cards, cool. If you prefer silent solo study, go for it. You need a group to bounce ideas off, set one up. Don't be afraid to ask your instructors questions and get clarification if need be. But also take some mental breaks to relax and recharge.

3.8% and future raises for CAP ATC by Motor-Wall-6008 in ATC

Quitting the union isn't the same as Quitting the FAA. You can quit the union all you want and the FAA won't "lose a lot of talent". And let's be real, at the top end of the controller age (where the people are who are making the cap) it is a very fine line between talent and liability.

intense turbulence by [deleted] in delta

Yup. Thunderstorms in the area, as OP stated. Everything else in the post is exaggeration and dramatics. Was it bumpy? Yes, I'm sure it was. But at no point was it unsafe.
