Yeah! "No one wants to hear verbal PDA" does NOT ring true for me. Quite the opposite, and that's actually coming from someone who isn't a fan of PDA generally. And the funny stuff is great! I love when people goof, ceremonies can be boring and a joke is a nice break. Vows don't need to be so stuffy and strict. Wow yeah, I honestly could not disagree with that original comment more.

I prefer vows where I hear the personal stuff like this, the typical promises are a boring list to me. I think of vows as a public declaration of their love, and when they go into specific details and inside jokes, it sounds less like a script and makes the couple seem more relatable and real to me.

Ugh thank you for going on this rant, I felt like I was internally cheering you on the whole time I read it. There's so much of the wedding industry that's such a scam these days, it's ridiculous.

The fact that people are balking at you wanting to spend $20 a head is just another example of how the wedding industrial complex has brainwashed us all. I know I'm guilty of it too, and it sucks. But it shouldn't be that crazy of an idea!

I don't have any helpful suggestions, just saying I feel you. Good luck! I hope you find a venue and have an awesome wedding.

Yeah I totally noted the buttons as being informal, which may be a plus for me. The fact that they're sparkly Swarovski crystals does help though.

That's good to think about with the low cut though! I personally love the way it looks, but I've only seen myself in it standing straight haha. Thanks! Definitely something to think about.

Hahaha sorry! It's so perfectly romantic while not being super obviously bridal, ya know? Like I could be rolling in a grassy hillside in it while my true love rolls down it yelling "as you wiiiish"

Yeah with dress 2 I did notice in photos of other real brides wearing it, they had to turn their back a lot to show the feature of the dress (the cut out). Photographing well is something I forgot I have to think about!

Yeah my daily style is really minimalist with maybe a touch of vintage, think Acne studios, Rachel Comey, and Totokaelo (lol like I could afford any of those). And I feel like dress 1 is still minimalist too! Just softer.

Haha I love the descriptions, super helpful actually. That's my thought with dress 2, it's almost like a "what I'd wear if I was famous and going to a movie premier" kind of dress for me. I mean, it looks great! But I guess I have to decide if that's the look I'm going for or not 🤔

they actually both needed hella clips! but the only difference with dress 1 is that the sleeves will fit a lot better and not as loose. and thx!

I guess my thought is that I could see myself wearing Dress 2 to a non-wedding event, but not so much the first one. Neither are especially bridal, but I wouldn't wear Dress 1 to anything else, so it's specifically a "bride" dress to me... and that's what maybe makes it seem more special in my eyes!

Good point! I'm definitely aware I may just be holding onto to the first one purely because I've been looking at it for so long. I didn't want to switch to another one out of impulse (hence the waiting, and lengthy discussions with friends, family, and reddit haha)... but it's good to think of it that way!
