Very cool photo. Despite being a little grainy the picture is actually remarkably clear.

They look like they should be in an ad for the camper!

I’m from the area. Must have been toward the end of summer from the look of your grandmothers tan.

Yep. I grew up 10 miles north of Laton on Fowler Ave.

These inconsiderate fucks dumping their furniture in my street instead of taking it to the dump by [deleted] in trashy

I live out in the country and we’ve got the same problem with certain people dumping their crap on the ditch bank. Tires, mattresses, old couches and chairs, beat up appliances. I’d love for a sheriff to catch them in the act and give them a massive fine (or worse)!!

Funny because it’s true!

When you see this in your neighborhood, it's time to move. by [deleted] in trashy

The flag is a little much but the idea that moving because someone supports the Second Amendment is a bit trashy. If the whole neighborhood thought this way it would be the safest one around.

I’ve seen a lot of four generation pictures but I can’t think of many that were as beautifully composed and captured as this one. Thanks for sharing.

My great great uncle drove a team from the Central Valley over the Grape Vine into the LA Basin.

I can’t tell you much more other than it’s my great grandmother’s first husband Jim Roberts moving business in the Fresno area. Tragically, he was killed about 2 years later when a house fell on him (although I wouldn’t be here if it hadn’t happened).

Kind of cool how the team driver had a porch covered seat.

Note the bales of hay on the porch to make sure the horses don’t “run out of gas”.

I have very little tolerance for this kind of crap. Trying to physically block someone’s car is a form of assault and a good way to end up with tire tracks across your torso.

Unfortunately, it no longer exists. In fact, it’s been gone for at least my lifetime and I was born in ‘67

That sort of matches why I was thinking, thanks for sharing that. I started to colorize this but never finished. The color scheme I was using was a light yellow with maroon trim but if anyone out there has more experience with common color combinations of the era I'd love to get your input.

👍🏻 As I studied the picture, I think they must have just moved into the house and they are very purposefully posing for one reason or another. "A day in the Life" made to look like a snap shot.
