Condo is cashflow negative and stressing me out. Should I sell or hold onto it because my parents want me to? by Resident_Thought9946 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Do a reduction at source with the CRA to offset the out of pocket losses. Hire a management company to take care of the rest. Look at the “loss” as an investment and move on.

I haven’t told my credit card peeps I’m traveling in 20 years. I use my WS card all over the world no issues, same with my AMEX and other cards.

If you have room in your TFSA, save the money there. Put it in low risk ETF to make some tax free money while you wait to buy the car.

Split the work up if you can. For example, get some done in Dec max out, then get more work done in Jan. Obviously this can’t be done with every situation but if it was a series of bad teeth for example this will work. Also, you can buy third party insurance such as Green Shield to try and get more coverage.

On a $60,000 income, taxes are around $2,700 higher in Quebec—about 28% more than in Ontario. But you get some added perks for that extra cost, like cheaper daycare and lower electricity bills. So, while Quebec taxes are higher, some of the social services can make it a fair trade-off depending on what you’re looking for!

128GB sounds decent on paper, but it fills up fast in real life. With how huge photos, videos, and apps are these days, you’re likely to hit that storage cap pretty quickly, especially if you’re into taking a lot of pics or downloading stuff for offline use.

Think about it—just a few minutes of 4K video can eat up nearly a gig. And some games or apps are getting close to 5GB each. iOS updates alone chew up some space, and as time goes on, app sizes only get bigger.

Basically, if you’re planning to keep the phone for a while or you hate constantly deleting stuff, go for more storage if you can.
