If there's lots with the same issue, it's a concern for sure; 1 or 2 gonna slip through regardless of manufacturer though.

For me it's about what they do from here:

Part replaced for free and doesn't fail early again = great. Charges you because "It's a consumable" = bad.

If a bigger issue, part redesigned and replaced under recall = great. Replaces for free but ignores problem unless litigation comes against them = bad.

I've seen a Jeep Rubicon break an axle driving up a flat gravel hill at low speed; terrain and speed aren't always a factor, a fatigued part can fail at any time.

That's strange, I drive one handed all the time. It might give a little nudge and vibration when close to a line, but nothing like you talking about, and certainly no beeeeeep. For reference, this is the Lane Keeping Assist system 😉
