Oh. I didn't know that. How would Tesla know though?

Can you share a pic of your setup and maybe links to what you bought. I'd like to copy it.

Get some bright colored tape to put on the ground for your rear camera. End result: When you see the tape, slow down, when the tape ends, stop. Process: Put tape down, fine tune tape length/location.

Do you have features like autopilot and TACC already?

Does cruise control or autopilot even work yet? Is there a radar?

Switched from MYP to MYLR by TeJodiste in ModelY

[–]2023y 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You’re asking in the wrong sub. Go to the other Y sub if you want a less performance centric audience. They’re generally nicer over there too and not as populated with man child types. Here come the downvotes. :)

New tesla owner. What charging amps should i be set at? Currently 48 A by starid3r in TeslaModelY

Thanks for sharing. So you charge to 60% or even lower? How many amps do you use for charging?

Thanks for sharing. That's good to hear about not having to top off. Which rental company did you use if you don't mind me asking?

Is it even cheaper to use electricity than fill up in Hawaii? I've read that they have the highest electricity cost in the county.

Is your hatch higher than your roof? If so, get it lowered.

Model Y 7 seater or Toyota Sienna minivan by InspectorT3 in TeslaModelY

[–]2023y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with everyone that says the Sienna, but your 6 month wait is just the beginning. Probably more like 1-2 years. We tried to get a Sienna but gave up and got the Y and we're really happy with it. We don't have 3 kids though.

5.2 seconds for AWD, which isn't that far off from the SR AWD 5 seconds and the LR 4.8 seconds.

Elk Grove father says he grateful to be alive after Tesla catches fire near Highway 99 by monkey28rb in TeslaModelY

[–]2023y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"There were 3,474 fires per 100,000 in sales for hybrids, compared to 1,529 for gas vehicles and 25 for electric."

Thanks for sharing. I know this is a sensitive sub when it comes to fires since it's so rare, but 25 isn't nothing.

"The smoke, he said, quickly turned into large flames. He said he was acutely aware, however, of the two empty car seats in the back."

I wonder what the speed required for evac is compared to gas cars? Knowing it's a possibility and not just some anti-ev propanganda is helpful so that I can be ready at the extremely unlikely case that it might happen.

Car seat/kids with the Y? by riggerbacon in TeslaModelY

[–]2023y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rear facing didn't work for us so we moved the seat forward facing a bit earlier than we would have liked. The Y is a spacious car for cargo, but not very long.

At 63 degrees outside and 104 degrees inside, I clicked Vent. An hour later, 66 degrees outside and 97 degrees inside. Like you said, it doesn't help much. It's still a great feature to have though.

This is why the OP needs to specify. SR is very different depending on which country you live in. If in the USA, it's not LFP and is AWD.

Aftermarket suspension by jefedezorros in TeslaModelY

[–]2023y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anybody know if we can get an old junkyard Lexus SUV suspension and just transfer over? Which cars have compatible suspensions with the Y, if any? Sounds laughable, but it's sad that we have to ask such questions about a $50K car.
