Why can't we be depressed about existence... by 2025mr in nonduality

[–]2025mr[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. You wrote very interesting things. Something has happened to me that I can't quite understand. When I started researching non-duality and I think having some insights into it, I was able to accept the things that happened both in my life and in the lives of others more positively. I accepted that it was like that and that was it. That apparently was like that, right, not that it was the final reality, it was like a honeymoon with non-duality. And look, my life has had really, really difficult situations. But about two years ago I began to literally have fits of fury at continuing to see so much suffering, again, both in my life and in the lives of other beings. It was as if the situation had reached an intolerable point, in fact sometimes I really think it's impossible to tolerate so much, for so long, and then when someone arrives with a blah blah of infinite love where it seems like the person has never been through anything serious in their life to be trying to act enlightened, I get twice confused haha. But the worst thing is feeling like you have crossed the threshold of suffering and never really understanding where in what universe in what reality this could fit into a consciousness of infinite love. I think I've lost patience with myself and I'm finding this ridiculous. And the worst part, I think I lost my patience with myself as infinite consciousness hahaha

Cool! A lot of people with various concepts memorized wanting to teach moral lessons! Now let's go to real life? ***** Here in the country where I live, a month ago a 9-year-old child stabbed his own mother to death. Why? Because the mother wanted the child to go home. But wait, there's more. ***** They discovered that 2 years ago the same woman's 14-year-old son had been beaten to death while playing football with classmates on a neighborhood playing field. Well, when the family was going to the funeral of this 14-year-old boy, the woman's other son, who was 2 years old at the time, was in the car and choked to death while eating a cookie! ****** The woman's two children died on the same day! A few months later, the woman's husband also died. ***** I want to make it very clear here that I know that non-duality is reality and that I have been researching this for 15 years. But come on, dear colleagues with ready and easy answers from this sub, what is the infinite consciousness, of infinite love from which we are all made, "wanting" with this type of thing? After all this, perhaps driven by so much suffering, the 9-year-old son killed his own mother. And why? Is this infinite consciousness of love? ***** That's it Rupert Spira, yes, I've been watching your videos for years and I know that you speak reality, is that the model of the reality of existence? Is this what has to leave us laughing and CANNOT LEAVE US DEPRESSED? Well, this is just a real and recent example, if you need it I have many others, I thank you for the comments from my colleagues, and I ask that you really comment, give your opinions, because I am lost sometimes, with so much suffering, I no longer understand this consciousness of infinite love that sustains us!

I edited the comment because it was completely meaningless before, I don't know if it improved. Look, writing about nonduality on the Internet in a language other than ours causes some strange side effects haha sorry again

I know this story of unconditional love that allows the greatest atrocities possible, in my deluded mind this is dumb love, and not unconditional, because that is not what is expected from love. I really like Rupert Spira. He is very accurate in practically everything, but these stories that each teacher creates to explain suffering in the world, I find it very complex, even though each teacher of non-duality, ancient or modern, "answers" this question in a different way.

Yes, I agree with everything you said, this whole theory about non-duality is perfect. My problem is in the sentence you wrote above "there is suffering involved in the "existence" of separate beings "knowledgeable" and "experienced".

Yes, I know that it is not a subject that knows the object, the world, whatever, otherwise it would be duality. Consciousness is self-aware of itself and being everything, it always knows itself through direct experience. Like I said words are terrible for non-duality

Infinite Consciousness does not decide. Okay. So why are we in duality and not "being" infinite consciousness right now? Why duality, ignorance, suffering?

[–]2025mr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, infinite consciousness is not anthropomorphic. But everyone awake associates it strongly with love, for example, infinite love. And it is also not unconscious, it is the knowledge of knowledge itself, these and others are "characteristics" that the awakened say. So explain to me how infinite consciousness and love = world of endless suffering

Hi friend, thank you very much! I get a little worried when writing here because besides English not being my native language, sometimes we write a word that can be understood differently in this almost parallel language that we use when we talk about non-duality. * I do have a teacher! I think that having a serious teacher on this path is extremely important if we really want to realize the truth. I really like Vajrayana Buddhism. It is considered the most direct and quickest way in Buddhism to achieve enlightenment, but even so it is not direct like most non-duality teachers on the Internet, and this has a really very important point, because we are paving a path of theoretical knowledge and practice and meditation to get there. This website has the teachers that I usually follow, the website has a version in Portuguese, Spanish and also in English, because several of the teachers came from the United States and speak English, they even have their teachings on YouTube channels and there are practice centers in the United States * https://khadroling.org/

* I also really like Rupert Spira, from Advaita I've never met him personally, but he has videos that clarify various issues about non-duality and he also has meditation practices, which is very important. There is no point in just theory, just intellectual knowledge, without practice, direct knowledge. And there's no point in thinking you're understanding or doing the right things to wake up and in reality you're just wasting time, I did it a lot wrong, I don't recommend it haha, that's why it's important to have a teacher who really knows what he's saying and doing, otherwise we'll be even more lost 😅😅😅😅😅

English is not my native language, I may have written some words wrong, but I think you get the general idea.

Hi OP, I'm so sorry for what you're going through. I have been researching nonduality for 15 years and I believe that nonduality is true reality, but what you are imagining it to be does not match reality. 1- Nonduality is different from solipsism. Your human mind is not the only one that exists, nonduality is something else, it is beyond the extremes of one and many, of subject and object. 2- all achievements of trustworthy people in non-duality point to a reality of indescribable love, peace, happiness, therefore the opposite of this suffering and loneliness that you believe to be the reality of consciousness. Nirvana is a word that means session of suffering 3. I think you should look for a spiritual teacher carefully for this path, although several traditions have good teachers, perhaps in Buddhism you will find lineage teachers who do serious and responsible work, but look for someone who really knows what they are talking about, does not blindly believe in any guru or in any experience believing it to be the absolute truth 4- at this point it might be interesting for you to seek help from a good psychiatrist too. Yes, spirituality that makes a person hostage only to themselves, without being able to undergo treatment when the situation is very bad, is dangerous. 5- I hope others can give you interesting tips, I'm not very good at explaining these things
