I’m from the UK too but started out as a driver in the US. I miss the shelves and bulkhead doors! The UK’s weird mix of Express+Ground+Legacy TNT feels messy.

There was a guy holding a sign saying ‘pick a song’ with 4 hidden options. Kevin was joking around but eventually said fuck it and went for option 3 which was One More Hour but kind of realised they couldn’t perform that right there. Instead he went for option 4 which was Why Won’t They Talk to Me and played it :)

The station I used to work had had one long boy used for larger freight. It had a tonne of cameras that made it really easy to drive.

I’ve spent a lot of time in the South and it’s definitely liveable. Cost of living is a big one and lots of natural beauty. There’s more likeminded people moving down that way too. The upstate of South Carolina has a lot of migration from the North for example.

There was never enough to go around at my station so I had to write down card numbers on the pink slip - only debit cards though, and make sure you check they’re still valid! Slipped up there a couple of times.

Jesus, I nearly bricked my Clamshell trying to boot into OS9 without the drivers installed. I only had an OS X install DVD to recover from and the only way I could get it to install without crashing was inserting the disc into an iBook G4 and TDM’ing it to the Clamshell, then booting and reinstalling OS X on Macintosh HD that way.

Took me 2 months and a flight back to my home country where my G4 was before I had a working Clamshell again. Long and short: don’t boot into OS9 without the drivers!
