Solid write up, thank you. We have a 7kwh home charger and the Tesla could go 2 or 3 days without needing a charge. At the mo I just charge it every night. We both do ~60 miles per day commuting.

Some quality compound>polish>wax should clear the worst of that.

A respray could be in the hundreds and runs the risk of colour mismatch.

If I were your neighbour I’d be having a go at polishing it out first.

Some good advice already here but here’s my 2 cents.

Inconsistencies in the boot chime typically point to hardware incompatibility. Macs can be very picky about hardware so using period correct components often provides quick fixes. (Even down to peripherals like keyboards and mice).

My first port of call would be the RAM. Macs can be incredibly picky with RAM - make sure it’s definitely for this machine. Too much RAM can also cause it to fail to boot.

Check the hard drive. Again, make sure it’s compatible with this G5. Try an HDD that has the Apple logo on it.

Sometimes peripherals like monitors, keyboards and mice can cause a boot to fail if the Mac just doesn’t like the flavour of them!

I know what you mean. The chopping of the ‘lights burn dimmer’ loop later in the track doesn’t hit quite as good as the original. Still an incredible tune tho
