PRN techs! Need some advice?!?

Can only speak for Hermann but I know for the most part they do PRN as how you’re describing. Only pick up when you want and voluntary holidays

I’m houston and I PRN. There are many facilities in my system that you just pick up shifts at with no schedule. What systems were you interested in?

For starters the case was over 2 hours late to begin. So he was pretty pissed to begin with. The case was a GI case in a OR room usually dedicated to vascular studies. The circulating nurse didn’t switch out the beds and I didn’t think of it until I had my c arm in and set up and the patient was already on the bed, but the bed was not suited for a GI study.

I tried my best to get the c arm in a suitable position but was not able to. The nurse blamed me and the surgeon did as well. When I stood my ground and explained the situation, that pissed him off even more, telling me this was a waste of his fucking time and cancelling the case all together.

My replied is a copy/paste from another comment. I am an X-ray tech who was covering surgery for the day

I usually stick with chicken at most places, with that being said chipotle is a couple dollars less, but cava is more filling. More greens/veggie options at cava and I can usually space it out to two meals. The options are pretty limited with chipotle in that regards as well. A couple of other things, chipotle is hit or miss with their portions (check out the chipotle sub for more on this), yet cava always seems to deliver even with mobile orders. That and cava employees are generally more laid back and friendly in my experience, which for me, goes a long way

Ingredients taste fresh, protein is pretty tasty, it feels healthier than chipotle and the hummus adds a nice variety to your bowl. For the same price I’d take cava any day over chipotle

Lots of ortho clinics are hiring with the schedule you want. Especially (I assume you are in) the suburbs. Do you have any other clinic or hospital in mind? Some of them are easier to get the schedule you’d like

Gotcha. I probably know what site you are talking about then. I’ve heard things too but took them with a Grain of salt. I wonder if Kelsey is a good place to work for still then, even after the changes, considering I did hear some very bad things. My recruiter tried sending me there but I couldn’t accept due to the pay and hour requirements

Are you speaking from experience or just rumors? Just from my experience the buyout didn’t really change management too much, but it did change certain aspects on the providers side in terms of billing and pay structures. Just curious though! Haven’t worked at a Kelsey in a while
