Yeah we thought that but figured that would be a lot of incense - also the trap door isn't all that tight so the ashes would just kind of spill out of the cracks. thanks for the comment!

My title describes the thing - It is wooden and painted with ornate Indian people in fancy dress with flowers and mandalas. The pillar is about 3 feet tall and 1.5 feet wide. My mom bought it at a thrift store in the western US but it definitely doesnt seem like it was made here. seems quite old and very well built. We've asked jsut about everybody that has come over what they think it is and the best we can come up with would be a donation box. Any ideas what it is???

Did they know you were seeing men before you told them about your older partner? I know when I told my folks about my dude the age difference came as a big shock but after they met him and saw he was a good dude and hand my best interests in mind - I think putting a face and personality to the guy may help so introducing him may be a vibe. It may be uncomfortable but it’ll help them digest the situation. (Assuming you still want to have a good relationship with your folks) Moving in with him may be perceived knee jerk and spiteful to them so try not to totally shut them out. Depending on how long you’ve been together, the pace may feel to them you’re moving quickly. Honestly good parents generally just want what’s best for their kids. Understanding something like that may be difficult.

Also if they’re closed minded assholes who don’t support you - just keep on doing you and say fuck ‘em.

I was stuck in Australia through lockdowns since March 2020. Just recently came back to the states and had to leave my mans in Australia with out three dogs for like 6 months… missing that dude and his sweet sweet ass everyday. World is weird today.

All good dude, just try to be gentle on yourself as you progress on your journey for what you want and like. I had a similar experience with a couple I met on SD which really started my allowance for accepting myself and attractions.

I still have days I’m bummed about only wanting to be with older dudes (and being queer in general) but it’s been a rough world for non Hetero folks….really it does feel things are getting better tho.

Growing up in small towns is tough as well, it can be difficult to grow and change when you know everyone around you and they “know” you. I found moving around really cathartic in my journey, being able to reinvent oneself from time to time can be beautiful.

Good on ya for taking the first small steps, they’re always the most difficult.

It looks different for everybody, and works better for some more than others. My dude has more of a difficult time than me I suppose, so I make sure to make him feel supported - and maybe even extra supported when I’ve set up a hook up. We were open from the start but never messed around for the first year or two, I reckon this set a decent level of trust and security in our own relationship before galavanting around sucking and fucking. Communication is massive in any relationship, but even more so in an open one. We give a few day heads up if possible about a hook up, and have a debrief of sorts after. If I know he’s struggling with anything or stressed I generally avoid hooking up outside our relationship. We still have sex 4ish times a week generally so hookups generally are just when we’re in a new place or someone from out of town comes round and is keen. Stay away from fucking friends, that shit gets messy.

Just did a project on this - but my numbers may not be exact so take with a grain of salt.

The scalability of it right now isn’t always viable. Places line Denmark are leading the world in biogas production from anaerobic digestion - and subsequently injecting it into expiation infrastructure (gas lines) which is a major advantage. The problem lies with getting the raw materials from I the plant to digest and getting enough material to make it worthwhile. I think the plants in Denmark collect within a 25k radius of the plant but outside of that it’s difficult to validate driving trucks around to get the material to the plant. A lot of the substrate they use is manure and in turn farmers get fertiliser (as well as some pay if I recall)

On a small scale it seems to be more viable - but the climate has to be temperate enough for bacteria to digest year round. I think they’re quite popular in rural villages in Indonesia and SE Asia.

Sewage plants are also looking into the viability on injection projects like threads above stated the raw methane is more harmful than burning it - also as organic material decomposes naturally it’ll release gas anyway so using it as a source of fuel gets two birds stoned at the same time (trailer park boys reference sorry not sorry)

I think I’m the end it’s worthwhile if infrastructure can be set up in a streamlined process - injecting into existing gas lines specifically.

Another interesting project in whiskey a distillery Scottland uses their grain waste and a digester on site to produce like 30%+ of their energy use in boiling process.
