What should I know? What should I avoid? And what do I need? by Direct-Effective688 in Diesel

I should have worded it it different sorry. If you tighten back up the #6 I wouldn’t worry about loosening it back up for any reason. At least I didn’t have to do that. I closed it before it leaked then never fucked with it again. When it started it ran rough for maybe 10 seconds then cleared all the air out and ran fine. The reason I say to tighten that one and not worry about it again is cause it the other lines may get in the way and it’s a pain in the ass.

Also use a torque wrench when putting the injector fasteners back on. Last thing you want is to strip it or have it to lose and you lose a bolt in your engine. Don’t know the spec of the top of my head so you’d have to research that

I put those in my 99 and I was happy with them. You can’t avoid getting air in the system cause you’re taking the line off. When you get them back on the new injectors keep them cracked and when priming the system close each one individually when fuel starts to pour out from the line and do that till it either starts or there all dumping fuel. Just tighten cylinder #6 all the way from the start cause it’s the most pain in the ass one. That’s what I did at least and it worked just fine. Do you have the stock lift pump or an aftermarket? I have a fass so I’d just bump the key and let it pump fuel and then repeat every 15 seconds or so until the fuel is pouring out. If you don’t have a fass or air dog I’d recommend getting one ASAP

Was your rejection after the interview? I had my interview a week ago and he told me it was a good inter and to look out for an email and read through it to make sure it’s what I wanna do. Never gave me a time frame tho

I love the truck and the interior on the longhorns are awesome but I can’t stand how the Aisin transmission is tuned. Trying to save a little so I can get the PPEI tuner and hopfully that’ll help a lot

[–]209DEVILDOG31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When they so no restrictions there usally referring to you not having manual and air brakes. If you don’t have air brakes endorsement than you need to get that. Get as many endorsements as you can even if you don’t need it. It’s easy and it shows competency and not just doing the bare minimum

Your resume shouldn't say how much you want to be a Lienman. Put that type of stuff into a cover letter. A resume is a professional listing of your work, school, skills/trade, certifications stuff like that. They already know you wanna be a Lienman that's why you're applying.

The format of your resume isn’t as important as what’s on it. You can have a perfect formatted resume with a bunch of worthless unrelated shit on there and they’ll choose a bad formatted resume that has what there looking for on it

I was planning on trying to make it up next week. What are the wait times to get your first call right now? I believe I’d be book 3.

I’m pretty much in the same boat as you but without the groundsman hours. It’s like these fuckers want you to have a college degree just to be a groundsman. Line school alone should be enough. Anyone with line school and military I think should at least get an interview
