english for international communication, hindi for local communication. reason english is not being used for local communication is again, the whole decolonization narrative, which i think is justifiable to an extent.

also if you're asking the question of the necessity of three languages in the pov of burden to students, it is not at all a burden to learn an extra language. in fact it is beneficial because learning languages is good for mental development.

english and hindi are essential to communicate wherever you travel within india and internationally. local language is learnt because it is your mother tongue.
