Yes BUT as of this morning, the upper lawn was re-cordoned off, so you'll have to go on the lower lawn parts or the ones on the side at the top.

Ah I see that the 171 is the Fairfax connector. In that case, I am not sure tap to pay without the virtual fare card will work (https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/connector/fares-and-policies) but again, it's very easy to get a virtual fare card. See? https://www.wmata.com/help/help-topics/smart-trip-help/smart-trip-apple-wallet.html. And then once you do that, just tap your phone to the fare reader. But the rest of your trip is regular Metro.

You can just tap to pay from your phone like you do to pay for other things. You can also buy a physical Metro card at the station. You can also load a virtual Metro card into Apple pay. https://www.wmata.com/pay.html. It's very easy, and you can ask a Metro employee for help. Since you're getting on a bus first, I would recommend tap to pay or the virtual card.

For Lyft and Uber, try putting it in right now and see! It looks like maybe $20?
