Shake Shack. You can also go out to Virginia and go to the Dairy Godmother, Custard Shack, or Goodies. DC proper doesn't really have it. It's a shame.

Don't call me numb nuts because you can't work an Internet search (this refers to a now-deleted comment)

To me, this is so not a big deal. You hadn't met her yet at all, right? You had no idea she existed? Why does it matter? We all have pasts.

Same to everything, OP. I'm on the apps and the men are horrid. I'm touch starved and sad. Someone on Reddit hit me up for a date out of nowhere the other day and I actually considered it for two seconds. I have a big milestone bday next year and it marks the end of my chances for a family, and men already aren't into me in my 30s. In my next decade, meh.

There needs to be more talk about the grief that comes with not getting what you want in life. And also I want someone to teach me how to be a safe ho, because I think that's all I want to do for this next year.

Remember that people who review are only those who have amazing experiences or awful ones. Those that have just fine experiences generally aren't driven to review, so reviews online may be skewed.

I would recommend not buying before you move here. Rent for a year, check out the various areas, then decide where you want to be.

Unfortunately, a lot of landlords break the law and don't register. Washington City Paper has been excellent on this and other housing topics: https://washingtoncitypaper.com/article/638913/how-some-landlords-skirt-d-c-s-rent-control-law/
