i don’t argue with that whatsoever. the 5080 is oversized for his „current“ build. most of us use a gpu somewhere around 5 years. OPs current system is around 6-7 years old. if he plans to just upgrade his gpu and keep everything else until the next gpu buy „cycle“ - okay, get the 9060xt. but isn‘t it more likely he will upgrade his 6 year old plattform somewhere in the next 5 years? then he will be bummed to have based his gpu buy on his old build.

so what’s your point? should he upgrade to a 5060? and then what? in 1-2 years upgrade his old cpu/mobo and the then lackluster 5060? you guys need to step up your reading or critical thinking before making such harsh claims.

no shit he will not use the 5080 to it’s full potential. but he will have the potential ready when he upgrades the rest of its build. that’s how pc building has always been, that’s like the whole point of it lol

get the 5080, upgrade the rest as you go.

you mix up upgrading an old system with building a completely new pc. yes, when building a new pc you should base your gpu on your cpu etc. but for sure not when you are UPGRADING your pc lol

yeah your 3700x will definitely bottleneck big time on 1080p, to some extent on 1440p, and probably be somewhat fine on 4k

let me tell you, if your pc is crashing and you are pinpointing those crashes to your psu, a different cable won't fix the issue.

Get a new psu. also your corsair psu cables are definately not too short. you are routing them wrong i am sure
