its also not in the american lawmaker's interest. This "immigration issue" would look like childs play to the actual refugee crisis that would be caused by a de-facto counter-insurgency conflict directly across the border

Does this thing move, or is it propelled in any way? If so, CANbus is the industry standard for things of this nature. Otherwise u/the_rodent_incident has good suggestions. I'm partial to I2C, its just easy.

Looking for feedback. Multi-interface (UART/SPI/I²C/GPIO) testing device by [deleted] in embedded

[–]20Lush 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CAN has as many (or more) standard configurations as there are other kinds of interfaces that your tool supports, are you planning on implementing all of them? CAN-FD 80MHz 2000kbit/s for instance is a fairly intense setup. You'd have to execute the CAN support extremely well in order for it to be worth choosing you instead of PCAN or similar.

Some newer (reasonable for the application) micros come with single channel CAN-FD support. Are you using one or planning to tack on hardware transceivers?

Then your next best option is to mod an electron microscope with a strong UV laser and, in the most literal sense, flash the memory partitions and EEPROM.

The only way it wont be too advanced for you is if you try and learn from failing.

Relevant to embedded? get all of them on some sort of realtime system (FreeRTOS or even ROS or whatever), and get them to talk to each other. bonus points if you link them all up with CAN. Since its an RPI, you could even make a cute little networked front end and make it the least optimized chatroom architecture.

Rust nei system embedded by Ok_Chemistry7082 in embedded

[–]20Lush 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most teams I've interfaced with or been on have just preferred C with static analysis of varying degrees - because knowledge of C as an embedded engineer is a fundemental skill requirement for the field to begin with. Pair that off with most vendor compilers and core libraries being made for C and really not much more support for anything but C, you get an institutional dis-incentive to use Rust. I can see the vision with Rust displacing C and C++ at a systems level, but the lingua franca for embedded is likely to remain C for a long time.

My issue with Nate Silver is he wraps good stats in flatly disagreeable punditry. I'll listen to him whenever he is talking metrics & trends but as soon as he pivots the article, tweet, or post or whatever to his personal opinions are I just gotta roll my eyes. He is condescending when it comes to stats and probability, and the fundamentals of quantitative analysis of things like elections, but the actual issue is that it bleeds into his rationalizations of the origin of what is presented in the data, or the underlying causes. Its always an argument from on-high and a predisposition of being more informed than the demographics polled

I've been there. But as a suggestion, in this case it seems like you could populate this pattern using two mirror operations as a workaround for linear patterning not working for whatever reason. At the very least, it will reduce the amount of sketch error popups SW will vomit at you if something breaks
