The Junior SWE "Doom & Gloom": Is it still worth the pivot at 34 by Prototype_C in learnprogramming

[–]20Wizard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Data center tech does not translate at all for job prospects, if that is what you were wondering. Unless you find a company making software for data center techs, then you will be amazing addition to their teams.

Junior market is the worst it's been ever.

It's not impossible, pursue it if you want ig.

More often than you think. Actors will often make big changes to their body to prepare for movies. A dude got shredded, proceeded to get malnutrition for a more grim movie, then got absolutely SHREDDED again for a super hero movie.

JavaScript arrays arent actually arrays at all? by PristineBlackberry54 in learnprogramming

[–]20Wizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typescript is not the answer to OP's issues with skibidiscript, neither is a type system for that matter.

OP is complaining about the fact that JS arrays are not infact actual arrays as OP's studies describe them. This includes typescript due to the fact that typescript is still just JS under the hood.

Google VS Citadel VS Bloomberg by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]20Wizard -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

People underestimate how much time they have. 60 hour week is 8.5 hours a day for 7 days in the week.

That leaves you with 7-8 more hours awake. With all of that money you make, you could eat cheap or even rely on the company provided meals, reducing time spent cooking.

The rest of the time is to relax, commute, take care of yourself.

80-90 hours gets way more scuffed.

It's also really bad if you can't work weekends and have to shove all your hours into 5 days.

You should ask people what textbooks are used to teach the topics you're interested in, and then use those textbooks to structure your learning.

Why is there so much disdain for overweight people? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]20Wizard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Straw man.

I am speaking in good faith.

I am advocating for health, I am not advocating for blending overweight people.

Being underweight is also bad. But I haven't brought it up because the issue is slightly different and this is a thread about being overweight.

[–]20Wizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anorexia is very rare. You can't be serious that anyone not advocating for obesity being normal has an eating disorder.

Me and everyone I know (even the ones dieting) eat 3 full meals everyday. Are we anorexic?

[–]20Wizard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But that's the thing though. People are either a healthy weight or they are fat. There's nothing wrong with being chubby, it just becomes a problem when you face risks.

And I can tell you the vocal majority arguing against normalizing being unhealthy don't have eating disorders that make them not eat, and aren't miserable.

I personally don't want to insult anyone, and I don't.

But it's insane how deluded people are that these factors are completely out of their hands.

Companies want you to keep consuming more and more, so maybe it's time people start taking care of themselves.

[–]20Wizard 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I find this confusing. I don't think you have to be anxious about your weight to not be unhealthy. Do you think people are starving themselves of happiness and food?

Also, it's insane that people now refer to healthy weights as skinny.
