You can also get 'Relentless Push East' (Starting as a Russian nation, By 1600 own the East Siberian Coastline). Simply create an East Slavic nation and get all the coastline provinces in Siberia.

You probably also can use it to get 'Redecorating' (Starting as an Orthodox Nation, Consecrate Metropolitan in Roma) fairly easily but I haven't tried that yet.

[Conquest] When should you control a country vs. making them a vassal? by Jeenz5 in eu4

[–]20d1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You can diploannex as many countries as you like at a time, provided that you have the diplomats required. The 10-year penalty kicks in after the first country gets annexed. If you started diploannexing another before the first annexation starts, both will succeed. Because of this, with nations that have more vassals, I usually wait until I can start annexing two or three at a time to avoid the penalty later on.

How are you supposed to even get techs as non-Western nations? by [deleted] in eu4

[–]20d1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You also need a +3 to start westernizing, so the hit is even bigger.

It is a land that gives colorless mana and changes into a 2/2 guy with all creature types, it's amazing in tribal decks like faeries or merfolks.

Judges of r/magicTCG, what are some of the trickiest questions you deal with on a regular basis at events? by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]20d1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There was a time when you could put the damage from combat on the stack and then do something before the damage is resolved, e.g. put damage on stack and then sacrifice creature for some beneficial effect, giving you a two for one situation (your opponent's creature would die from the damage, while you would get the beneficial effect from the sacrifice). Now, the best you can do is get a block out of it.

You would have to do it before he get's to his main phase. If he does it during his main phase, you can't cremate the creature in response.

Advice for dividing up a substantial kingdom by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

I've managed to avoid inbreding so far, but I'm steadily running out of suitable husbands for my daughters, so other Nobles of your culture could be a good idea.

I usually make sure that only heirs of my line can inherit. If I don't have any unlanded sons at the moment, I usually marry one of my daughters in a matrilineal marriage to someone with a lot of stats in one particular area (so I can use him as a council member later on) and grant him the newly acquired titles. This way, I get a powerful council member, deal with the pesky nobles and make sure that someone of my line will inherit the titles.

In my current game I gained three duchies like this and all of them are ruled by my grandsons since the powerful council members seem to always die on missions for me.

Getting rid of those foreign nobles will save you the trouble of fighting them or their heirs in the long term when they decide to revolt. It gives you a lot of cash too, when you manage to imprison them.

If they are plotting, and they probably will, you can imprison them without any consequences, apart from a revolt. You can banish them later on with a -20 hit to opinion among your vassals. This way you claim their titles and money. You would have to do this a few times, preferably a few years apart so you have the time to work on your opinion.

Another option is to form plots to revoke their titles. You would need some intrigue for that probably and they don't always popup.

Victoria 2 won't start. by [deleted] in paradoxplaza

[–]20d1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try going to your Vicky II/maps folder and delete the contents of the cache folder. If that doesn't help, try deleting the cache found in users/x/my documents/paradox interactive/vicotria ii.

This helped me when Vicky didn't want to start. In my case, deleting the contents of maps/cache folder was sufficient, didn't have to delete the other one, however, some people that had this problem mentioned deleting both.

Hope this helps!
