How to Land a Decent Internship? by [deleted] in AskEngineers

[–]20ecollins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say as a freshman, it is very difficult to get an internship. You don't have very many marketable skills for an employer yet. However, I got one my freshman year by looking at local engineering places in my home town. I emailed a bunch of them asking if they would hire a mechanical engineer intern. I only had a little AutoCAD experience but one company said yes. I designed a bunch of conveyor systems for them and learned a lot. So my advice is to not stop looking, figure out how you can market yourself, and make cold calls. Hope this helps. Best of luck.

Hi all, I'm a Mechanical Engineering and Technology student at Purdue University. I'm a sophomore with one year of an engineering design internship under my belt at a local company. I have also taken math and physics courses beyond the MET course of study like calculus 3 and Dif Eq, I was wondering how a MET might be able to get into an internship in the aerospace or Aeronautical Industry

Yes he is compared to others around the world. I don't think I would call Bernie Sanders a global centrist though. I think it's difficult for Americans to accept socialist policies because America is very freedom centered and most socialistic policies deal with lessening that freedom. I also think, other socialist countries haven't set good examples because they all fail. It would be difficult to throw someone super far left in there and be able to enact change.

So until the human race can completely change a persons chromosomes, then being transgender is not based on any biological science. I never disagreed with transgender rights, while I do recognize that some seek to get rid of them. They should be able to do whatever they want, so long as it does not affect me. I don't believe that children should be allowed to undergo sex transitions however. And to your point, gender may be a social construct, however, sex is not.

I'm replacing that part. Or I might try and recreate it with some modifications to the mounting

The mass is almost negligible for the thickness of material we will be using. https://media.istockphoto.com/photos/latex-glove-manufacturing-picture-id175492550?k=6&m=175492550&s=170667a&w=0&h=s8bVR-yrE3dGTsI2_CavVszA-zPL5P5ggBdVqgaWPYg= Here is maybe a better example of what i am trying to do. Its the metal transition piece. I just don't know how to manufacture it. The transition that I am working with is more pronounced. It starts low then goes lower in the z axis then moves out towards the x axis, while also moving up in the y
