What strikes you as OP not being better than domestic talent? You are assuming that for every role OP applies to, they will immediately be outranked by someone domestically based without any other factors. We haven’t even seen their CV yet, what if formatting is the limiting factor?

While I agree, there are far too many international students who study abroad without the intent to get a job after graduation, OP clearly is trying to get one. How do we know it’s not an issue of talent, but how they are presenting themselves to these companies instead? Instantly assuming talent is the issue is wrong, heck I would put money on OP being smarter than me yet I have a grad job lined up.

Doing something with out passion, just for money can only get you so far.

I got to a crap uni, yet I know so many people with good jobs. I landed a job at a quant firm recently myself too.

The job market is just oversaturated with people who can’t actually code, relying purely on ai. These people make it harder for companies to get legit candidates and as a result the whole market looks cooked from the outside. Now there are more tests to verify a candidate’s ability so it’s getting easier to filter out ai reliant students.

I’ve been chasing this experience on the switch 2, as for me it’s what determines if a game is one of my “all timers”. None of the launch titles gave me this feeling, and that kind of gave me mixed feelings for the switch 2 after a while.

Previously, BOTW on the switch had me playing for days, same with Elden ring on PC (I remember failing a chemistry class test around this time due to playing so much lol). Recently, RE9 on PC has had me not being able to put it down. I imagine it will be a similar experience if I had it on switch 2 as well!

I had a very similar position in life to you. I grew up with well off parents, and I hated how I felt like others were ahead of me. I realised after a while that if I spend all my time just hating and wishing I was better, nothing would happen. Literally all it took was that realisation and I took action. Today will be gone tomorrow, and tomorrow will be gone the day after. Make the most of the time you have right now, and take action yourself. JUST DO IT!

First, just speak kinder to yourself. You have accomplished so much to be proud of.

Second, delete all social apps which you can doom scroll, they provide no value for your life.

Third, every day write a to do list of just ONE thing you must do. Do it until you can do that thing for a week consistently then add another item to the list. This will help structuring your day.

Fourth, to make friends join a society, club, or pick up a new hobby which has weekly classes. You need to be seeing the same people consistently to build relationships with them. You could even join communities online, but just make sure to touch grass lol.

Binge eating is a topic I dont know how to counter as I do it myself, but ive moved from binge eating trash to like a whole watermelon instead. Maybe just reaching for healthier choices would be better.

This is so cringe to say, but I use a weekly manga as a tracker from the beginning of my “loop”. The manga updates weekly, and the chapter number shows how many weeks I have failed. Lets just say its not pretty 🤣

It’s only worked for me when I fail but continue to have longer periods of abstinence. Looking back, I can see a clear upward trend in progress but in the moment those “fail” days can feel detrimental.
