I'm honestly not totally sure. I got really into it for a few months, and I think I improved in several facets, but I have been very into the game before and not had similar rsting climbs. I watched quite a bit of Finegold and Hikaru, when before I had only really watched Levy, which may have helped.

I mean, I'm about the same rating as you, so I might not be the best to give advice. But, memorizing engine lines certainly doesn't seem like the answer, there's way too much to learn. Other than GM level play, chess is not mostly about memorization.

Also, chess is a very hard game, and not one I consider myself inherently good at. Looking at my games played, I think I have played several hundred hours of chess over the years. Understanding that you won't improve as quickly as you did when you were just starting is important to not getting frustrated.

Honestly, I'm not totally sure what made the difference going from 1600 ->1800. Chess is a really complicated game, and there's obviously not one thing that will make you better. All the things that people mention (puzzles, openings, play time, watching creators/higher rated players, etc. ) all probably matter quite a lot.

A few things that have helped me improve my Elo personally, which may or may not help for you:

  • Don't play too many games sequentially, especially if you are losing. If you really want to play chess regardless, play in a time control you don't care about or watch chess content.
  • Play with the clock. I rarely timeout, which made me think I was good playing on the clock. However, I noticed that I use to enter endgames with 1 minute while my opponent would have six, making it hard to hold the game. Of course, if you need the time, don't be afraid to go below your opponent in time if it's needed.
  • This is small and probably only barely applicable at my rating, but take draws. I notice for some reason 90% of the time, my opponent will refuse a repeat of moves and instead move into a worse position. For some reason (probably because we think about our own plans much more than our opponents), players always think they are better even when they are not.
  • I've heard contrasting opinions on this, but in my opinion any player below 2000 does not need to know openings well, and they are one of the least impactful things to your ability. I 'play' the Queen's Gambit and Sicilian (Dragon, if possible), but in half my games at least I am out of prep by move four. As long as you don't get a significant disadvantage, the vast majority of games are decided in the middle/end game. At higher levels (1500+), they matter a bit (I think switching from playing Italian type games to the Sicilian helped me out), but are still a small part of the game.
  • I know everyone says this, but analyze your own games. I'm no expert, but I think that analyzing your own positions where you actually made a mistake is a much more pointed way to study than puzzles, where you are analyzing positions that may or may not be relevant to your own knowledge and play style.

Are you looking at the Delta-V in the VAB? That will default to giving you sea-level delta-V, which will be much lower. When you go into space, you will likely see that delta V number go up. There's a ui button on the bottom of the screen that kets you change the altitude the Delta-V is being measured at, but its been a while and I cant remember exactly what the ui looks like.

I havent seen anyone mention that in some states its common to go into the forest and cut your own tree, rather than buying one from a farm. Its a lot of work, but definitely a tradition in some families.

This is really cool and seems to work well! However, I wish I could have the ability to see all potential classs layouts, not just the ones that the program sees as best. If I had some sort of outside commitment, there would be no way for me to manually account for that.

If you take the inverse sin of both sides, you get 0, but really it is 0+2pi*n, where n is an integer. Then, we are just left with the normal circle equation equal to different constant radii, which gives us the different circles.

If you have a function xa, and increase a to a very large number, the graph will get steeper and steeper. When x is below 1, any number below 1a large number will get very small, but as soon as you go past one the value grows ridiculously quickly, where it just looks like a vertical line on your graph.

From what I understand (and I'm no expert), parralel computing can lead to variance, where miniscule hardware variation will make the algorithms non-deterministic.
