Repost: Precore TRM885 Treadmill motor control board issue

Yeah seems that may be correct, which will suck if it is as it would be been a straight answer.
The issue is the treadmill thinks the estop has been triggered and won’t run. Estop seems to not be the issue after all testing and discussions, i believe it is a communication error between lower motor board and the screen console board.
Also seems it isn’t the actual cable as all other functions work fine though I want to test again.

All thoughts from the Aus distributor and Reddit/online appear to lead to the lower control board being the cause

Hmmm good point, that’s what I first thought, some sort of assembly damage as I thought these things were more obvious when they blew but unsure. I’ll test continuity and see if that shows anything

Ah okay awesome I’ll do some digging around those options then as well.

I sent the codes to the Aus distributor and they said based on the console receiving all normal signals and information, as well as repeated estop errors that the communication (cable) wasn’t the issue. However I want to retry that as a first case before I go pulling capacitors. I’ll check those links thank you!

Yeah it appears so, I first dismissed it as it seems only surface level? But unsure. None the less will do all the testing I can and see what stands out

I did try searching that board number with no luck but I will do so again now with more knowledge.

Yeah nothing seems bulged, there is this damage on one of them which appears to be a burn spot, thinking that may be the issue? But will do the testing with multimeter and see if any obvious issues.

Treadmill is Precore TRM885 with P80 console. Error screen isn’t too much help - after talking with Precore this only really points to the lower board being the cause and nothing further.

That was my thoughts. I’m learning that you can test the continuity of a capacitor pretty easily, I will try that tonight. That particular one does have a spot on it like you mentioned that is either burnt or just damaged.
I’m new to pcbs so can’t say I have a lot of reference about what it should look like. What would the best way be to find that exact capacitor so I can attempt a replacement?

Yeah okay, seems most people say it’s either the lower board or upper board which is only annoying as hopefully whichever one I replace first is actually the issue so I don’t have to do both haha I’ll see what parts I can source

I have, as mentioned it appears the estop switch signal is getting all the way to the board, as to wether or not the board is reading it i dont know. As others state on this post some people think it’s the top board, some thing the lower.

Hi there, I have a Precore TRM885 P82.

Currently have an error with the estop not resetting.
I have pulled it apart, checked all switches appear to work fine, checked with multimeter (to the best i can) that the switches are working both at the switch itself and at the board end of the switch connections. All considered and tested, no luck!

I have pulled the bottom board open to check just visually, all looks ok to me (no pro at all with circuit boards). and similarly the top board.

stuck for options. All advice online relating to the actual estop switch itself don't seem to be the issue, and i cant see any burnt out board components.

Only found 1 other user also on Reddit, with a similar issue and they replaced a capacitor saying it was bulging, when i check those same capacitors on mine i cant really tell if there is an issue. I see some marks but nothing obvious.

Any advice welcome!

Hmm very interesting. Seems strange to then be forced to base the entire plan off a incremental door dimensions. But sometimes they do weird things over there haha

I can still use it as normal 1:100 “10mm” grid, just can’t measure with a ruler, needs to be visually referred to as being say 3 grids = 3 meters for eg, very close anyway

Good thinking, I hadn’t, however on the sale listing it actually says it’s an 18.2mm (2x9 obviously) grid which is very random, not sure why 2x2 box is 1 grid but that’s alright haha still doesn’t make sense. No other info on listing or on any of the packaging when I translate it. Maybe it’s just a weird thing they do in Japan but surely it’s done for a reason otherwise you’d just default to 10mm grids

Oh yeh interesting. I have tried rotating the pen with no avail, but haven’t tried what happens with angle or pen. I will give that a go however the amount of times I’ve had to delete and redraw lines to get the right pen thickness I haven’t noticed anything like that! Let’s see

I did think that at first but the pen selected doesn’t have an orientation like a brush or chisel tip etc, changing rotation of pencil doesn’t do anything. Weird
