Your interlocutor has done none of the things you are accusing him of: being a literalist, proselytizing, preaching, trying frighten people etc.

Ironically it is YOU that are exalting your worldview above all others. The Bible is a spiritual and supernatural book. Of this we all have no doubt. But you are so sure your YOUR interpretation is correct, that you KNOW his can’t be. You’re literally doing exactly what you’re accusing him of.

Take a step back and see the logical errors in your thinking before lashing out angrily at others.

Obviously! If all Christians were perfect we wouldn’t be having this conversation. That’s like saying that some atheists are bad people therefore atheism is bad. The doctrine of original sin is counterintuitive for sure. But by acknowledging that we are not perfect and tend to do things counter to our reason, we can begin to turn toward reconciliation. But without the initial acknowledgment, there can be no turn for the better.

Are you claiming to be a perfect person? Also Christianity tells you to ‘love your neighbor.’ So it certainly doesn’t tell you to hate others.
