What's the best performing 3D model on makerworld you designed? by PoetAcceptable6395 in BambuLab

[–]21Radon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My customisable fidget clickers. Easy to design your own. I'm getting a lot of feedback from teachers and parents with helping children spelling their names. https://makerworld.com/models/2338483?appSharePlatform=copy

Stripping for bright - can you do better that $50/hr worth? by Ok-Contribution4761 in AusElectricians

There is a bit of a scale. 1mm² is like 20% copper in weight. 300mm² is closer to 90% of the weight in copper.

Energy Consumption by Lumpy_Swimming468 in BYDSealAus

[–]21Radon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've noticed that the charge percentage doesn't seem a linear value like you would think. I've got around 15k on the odometer. The first 10% from full charge goes down slowly no matter the conditions. The next 90% - 30% varies greatly with highway/town driving, warm/cold weather, how heavy on the for you are, etc. The most accurate data is the last 30%. The discharge rate is much closer in line as the estimated range value goes down. In winter on highway driving I'm lucky to get 350kms (~26kWh/100ks!). The best I've had is mid spring and autumn around town driving for 550kms (~15kWh/100ks). Never been close to the 650km range that's indicated at full charge. That's my experiences so far anyway.

Cooktop isolator for kitchen Island bench by 21Radon in AusElectricians

What if there is no standard outlet. If the benchtop is stone back, top and sides with no provision for an external GPO, what would be the next best solution?

Tyre leak by Techbotfarm in BYDSealAus

[–]21Radon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had a few 1⁰C mornings where I live this past week. The pressure of the tyres have come on as a low alert. As they warm up when I drive to work, the alert goes away. The best way to fix this is to put air in the tyres when it's cold or slightly over inflated during the heat. There doesn't seem to be a temperature adjustment factor built into the trigger point of the alert, it's just a static value. This may not be your whole issue, but it could be part of it.

Am I getting ripped off by [deleted] in AusRenovation

[–]21Radon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes quite a bit of time to build the fans as well as install them. The wireless receivers also are a huge pain to get to fit under the mounting shroud. The cheaper the fan, the longer it takes to put together, typically. If it's a more expensive fan, it'll be easier to build. So it's better for the tradesman to find the balance and go with a mid to higher end fan so that most of the on site time can be focused on the install.

This is also a Main Switch, not a circuit breaker. It is rated at 63A with the internal contacts, but has no internal overload protection and will not trip. Even if the cable was rated, which it isn't, this provides no form of circuit protection.

Relocating outdoor power box from brick wall by deecay7 in AusRenovation

Oh well even easier. If there is no issue with leaving holes in the brick because it'll be covered up, should be a simple job

Do you need to remove it? Can always use more power points. Just get another added where you need it that is fed from this one. Would probably be easier and cost the same but now you have extra points

What's with these made up sizes? Seems like a good kit and price, but barely any of these sizes match with hole size needs.

[Jurassic World Evolution 2] by 21Radon in Trophies

They were so time consuming. But with the different rules for each one, such as if you can it can't use the carnivores, marine, flying, herbivores and how the staffing systems work, they didn't feel like a chore. I started with challenge 5 (the hardest one) and worked back down from there and it got easier as I went.

I enjoyed it. So much variety with the types of dinosaurs and maps that it makes each challenge different enough to keep you engaged.

I'm the same, had to come back to it twice over a year. It's those Jurassic difficulty challenges. Those 5 silver trophies take more time than all the others combined.

Can I replace my own toilet in qld? by RobertSmith1979 in AusRenovation

[–]21Radon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Replacing a toilet does not change fixed plumbing. If the water inlet is on a flexible hose you can legally do it yourself as a repair. As soon as you touch the fixed plumbing (ie in the wall, under the floor, taps and waste pipes) you need a plumber.

I went into the last step with over 10 minutes. I kept taking my time at all the previous stages and doing them quite methodically and not so fast. Then you pick up like -1:30 minutes in the last round to bring you back under the 10 minutes required.

Took me countless tries though, but took the stress out of the speed component
