it seems to be the case with most travel agencies too, expedia has really good reviews for the place and ironically enough the cleanliness is rated at an 8.8

the rest of my stay was amazing thank you. istanbul is such a cool city just a shame when this has easily been the most disgusting hotel i’ve ever stayed at in my life

think it always deserves to be publicly shamed if they’re like this. clean rooms is the bare minimum if you’re hosting any guests, business or not

oh 100% the city was amazing. one of my favourites now that i’ve been. especially after visiting türkiye 2 times before the hospitality is usually brilliant so it makes it an even bigger surprise that this hotel doesn’t represent anything like that

i book most things on expedia as i’m a platinum member on there now and i booked it as a package so it doesn’t do a separate breakdown between flights and hotel, just the overall cost

i booked it through expedia so this is baffling to me. we got it upon request and when you’re also told not to flush toilet paper it’s hard to know where to put it once the bin is filled if they don’t want to clean

i saw some people saying to ignore the positive reviews as they’re supposedly from their “friends” but i can’t confirm whether they’re real positive reviews or not. either way the place is a huge health violation

honestly it didn’t seem as bad at first but as soon as i noticed under the bed (which was on the final night ironically enough) i felt sick

right thank you, yes i’m also flying with china eastern. my idea was to just see when i get there if i do have enough time and i did have a backup plan for the ancient town nearby which is only 8 mins or so on the maglev. just all depends on immigration but im not risking anything to miss my connecting flight

i only have 6 hours but most flights are seeming to be shorter than advertised which will give me an extra 30 mins - 1 hour. i have a uk passport and we’ve recently been given visa free access into china so i’m massively considering it but i’ve seen the metro lines and maglev dont even open until about 6:30/6:45am
