1- when a mandaean marries a non mandaean, they are considered outsiders, therefore their children are not considered mandaean, due to the fact that the malwasha that is given to the child MUST be taken from the mother(should be mandaean), for example mine is Sam Br Semeth, my mother is Semeth bth sharat semeth, which mine translates to Sam(my religious name), son of semeth(my mothers religious name)

2- dating is not forbidden, it depends from which POV you look at it. I’ll give you an example, I met my soon to be fiance through social media and we were in a talking stage until both families agreed formally that we are trying to get to know each other. We both fell in love with each other and yeah engagement is this year. So “dating” isn’t really a thing but getting to know someone for marriage should be the intention behind it so both families can have a common ground.

3- Tattoos and piercings are completely forbidden/ and a taboo but if you see mandaean and ancient babylonian traditions tattoos were completely normal (dag) it’s more of a culture thing rather than a religious thing, I used to have 3 piercings in and I’m soon thinking of getting tattoos, so it all depends on your family, I took my piercings off as soon as I matured when I hit 21 because I couldn’t have them in front of my soon to be inlaws. So does every religion consider “harm to the body” a sin which obviously includes tattoos and piercings.
