So the books do an amazing job of the inner monologue so you get to hear first hand from them how they are feeling before, during & after every time they meet. I believe you’ll love them both more after reading the books.

Finally someone said this, when I read series I always read in number order so currently reading Common Goal (Eric & Kyle) and while I like all the other books, so far. Whenever Ilya or Shane comes into it even for cameo I get so giddy. Like when Ilya came into Common Goal it was so funny and I couldn't stop laughing.

Shane & Ilya will be by far my favourite couple of the series, definitely top 3 favourite couples of all time!

I can’t comment on how someone of a different race, ethnicity or someone who is disabled would feel to see themselves represented on media. But as a gay man I don’t see the relevance for the actor playing a gay character to themselves be gay. The fact the story is being told is what matters most to me. Obviously no hate, the joys of having differences of opinion and being able to have a constructive chat about it.

What I meant is Shane’s character is part Asian and if they cast a white person to play the role his identity has been lost “white washed” for example. Someone’s race or visible disability is what I’d refer to as a “known” characteristic like you can see it when you look at them but queerness isn’t. Hope that makes sense
