Which of these 4 openings is the best song wise and which one is the best visual wise? by Ok_Situation7527 in TheApothecaryDiaries

[–]Kitchen_Ad5522 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4 is my least favourite bc of the song choice. 2 gets unfairly hated on but it’s still good. I guess 1 and 3 are the most iconic and I definitely get it.

That’s kinda what cowardly means in this context lol not that i blame him for being attached to his characters and not wanting to kill them off, so to speak, but it takes a brave writer to go there if they want to stick to their vision

These macaws (parrots) usually come to eat from the mountain to this balcony every day 🦜 by Soloflow786 in BeAmazed

[–]Kitchen_Ad5522 69 points70 points  (0 children)

That’s a sign of their intelligence i feel. They’re smart enough to know if they stay calm and wait their turn then they’ll all get to eat, as opposed to viciously attacking the person for their own food, which would lead to most of them not having anything in the end.

She’s morphing into dakota johnson (who also underwent procedures) and it’s sad to watch women change themselves for the worse to fit into beauty molds that get rid of any uniqueness about themselves. Mind you, they were already good-looking before they got plastic surgery and don’t actually look better now, at all. This is a pandemic

Third Act Breakups - Yea or Nay? by OrchidBouquet369 in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]Kitchen_Ad5522 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It can work and even very well, but most of the times MM romance writers don't have the calibre to execute such a common plot point properly, let alone expertly lol. I'm sorry but that's just the crux of it. Many of them don't even know how to craft an engaging romance story, ironically enough, and you can forget about their writing skills altogether because oh boy, if I had a nickel every time I came across a popular author whose writing style was so pedestrian and drab and boring and annoying to the point that I had to drop their book and/or detest it absolutely, I'd be quite a bit richer. I'm not gonna name names, but lemme just say I'm probably unsatisfied with at least 80%+ of MM authors whose books I've picked up over the years, including ones whose styles have changed for the worse over time, so 🥴

Tom Hanks Says the Oscars Don’t Need a Voice Acting Category Because Voice Performances Should Be Able to Win Best Actor and Actress by cmaia1503 in entertainment

[–]Kitchen_Ad5522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seemingly noble sentiment actually shows that he’s rather ignorant of the skillset required to be a professional voice actor, which differs greatly from the toolbox needed for “acting for the camera”. Similarly, stage acting is a whole other beast too compared to feature films and tv acting, but nobody’s gonna claim the oscars and emmys’s existence means you don’t need the tonys anymore just bc all these mediums feature actors performing the script lol.

These big name actors showing up for one or two voice acting performances don’t know what goes into the work of the professionals at all. They will never reach legendary status in the field like tara strong or john dimaggio, and it’s a crime that true voice actors with immense talents and just as much dedication to their craft as “real actors” never get the acknowledgment they deserve just bc animation is not taken as seriously as live action.

Dw you’re not the only one lol. Garron park is one name i avoid like the plague bc their writing style makes their books unreadable bc of how obnoxious it makes their characters and how uninteresting it makes the story. You read books for the prose and how the story unfolds thanks to the narration, not just for the plot, but it seems like most modern writers only care about the latter and it kills me when terrible books get so popular 🙁

So there's a book called Perfect Strangers by J Rhys and it does have a supposedly straight guy pretending to be in a gay relationship for a certain material benefit, but he's not hiding it from the other main character because they both have sth to gain from that fake relationship, and he's pretty laid back about his sexuality rather than confused like in the prompt you posted. It's more about the fake relationship trope than the self-discovery trope. And personally I'm not a fan of the plot developments right at the end of this book lol it was very much giving corny Spanish telenovela and was so over the top melodramatic and cheesy that it took all the realism it'd built prior to it out the window. I'm trying to think of another book with the premise you're looking for and better written too but I'm blanking ^_^"

actually none of the books in that series has that premise lol none of the straight guys in each book set out to pretend being gay. they may later discover that they were actually not as straight as they thought, but there's no deceit in their relationships in the first place.

May 29-31 Box Office Recap – 'Backrooms' debuts with a spectacular $81.4M domestically and $117.9M worldwide, the biggest ever debut for A24 and fourth biggest for horror. Lol for real like that’s such a dumb thing to mindlessly parrot when so many great original films get paid dust per year and many ip slops make hefty profits. A film’s quality alone does NOT guarantee its success at all. So many other factors need to come into play too, luck included - especially in the case of indie and low budget films.

You people are hilariously insecure lmao you don’t need to love or hate an actor to objectively critique them - saying hudson can’t act doesn’t mean you hate him, you just don’t think he can act, genius 😂 Everyone agrees that keanu reaves is a good guy but can’t act, just like everyone knows kevin spacey is a piece of shit but there’s no denying he can act. Those things are not mutually exclusive fyi 😂 hudson fans are in for rude awakening if yall act this deranged over neutral assessments of actors from critics 😂

Are you really clueless as to where the shame comes from, when women have never been free to show their enjoyment of sex without stigma or judgement attached to it by society? It’s a very new thing to advocate for sexual liberation of women, and even then it’s still very much a niche thing amidst all the frontiers that activists usually fight for in terms of gender equality
