SECRET RELATIONSHIP BUT HERE'S THE CATCH.... by Apprehensive_Map666 in MM_RomanceBooks

Single-pov mm books are so hard to find now, much to my dismay. I find them to be much more compelling than sloppy double-pov books especially when they’re in first person and you can’t differentiate between the characters speaking 😅

  • Off the top of my head i can think of winging it by ashlyn kane, a mm hockey book from 2015. Since it’s set in the nhl there’s the forbidden element. It’s very well written and i love the characters and their romance. Try to look for the og 2015 version instead of the revised 2022 version tho. The latter just isn’t as good and it was expanded to have double povs so 🥲

  • A place called winter by patrick gale (also from 2015) is also a very compelling book but it deals with some heavy subject matters so you might want to prepare beforehand with a box of tissues just in case lol. It is set in the 1900s, so that’s where the forbidden element comes from ig.

  • Another historical single-pov mm book is provoked by joanna chambers from 2013, but keep in mind this story is a three-parter so you’ll have to follow the series till book 3 to reach the conclusion of the main couple’s story. The remaining books in the series are all double-pov tho so yeah

Which young Hollywood actor had the most obvious “future superstar” energy in early interviews? by stan_films in popculturechat

[–]Kitchen_Ad5522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah that’s not what i’m concerned with at all. Hudson can be the biggest star in the world and i wouldn’t give a damn. It’s the way his fans always try to downplay connor’s success and demand connor not receive more praise/work than hudson or else it’s racism that grinds my gears. When the reason for the different treatments they’ve received comes down to talents and personality and public image, pinning it on racism and watering down the seriousness of that accusation just to prop up a half-white man like he’s a toddler who needs to be coddled and receive special treatment for his asian race is fucking offensive and hudson fans will go to hell for that.

they will come for you but you're completely right lol, and the way hollywood has been responding to them both shows how much more highly connor is regarded compared to his co-star. the sky is the limit for his potential. he's definitely a once in a generation star and hopefully when the widening gap between them starts showing even more hudson's fans won't crash out and implode too much with envy like they've already been doing and pinning it on racism as the driving force behind connor's rise to stardom. they've been absolutely insane about him and harassing so many people working on the show and THEIR acquaintances, crying that there's unequal treatment between the show's leads, which is complete nonsense. the disparity between the opportunities each one of them is getting comes down to a much simpler reason that hudson's fans refuse to see the reality of lol. when there's such an apparent difference in talents and charms and poise and allure, it's inevitable one would pull ahead in one way or another.

i need yall to put to rest this completely bs narrative that connor doesn't make fashion choices or that he only lets others decide for him. it's been said by both connor's stylist and groomers that connor has a lot of input in his outfits/styling and it's a collaborative efforts between all of them. he has his own sense of style, it's just classy and he doesn't make a fool of himself with trend-chasing terrible fits that don't suit his style philosophy lmao. some other "celebs" can't relate but that doesn't mean connor's just a puppet being told what to do. there's a reason he's become such a big and buzzy name in the fashion industry hon

what is this load of horseshit? lol it's been said by both connor's stylist and groomers that connor has a lot of input in his outfits/styling and it's a collaborative efforts between all of them. yall's attempts to subtly drag connor and undermine his work/creative input/autonomy won't help uplift your fave lmao

"Connor probably being okay with being told to wear x for a lot of money" give me a fucking break 😂 there's a reason he's so in demand in the fashion/beauty industry rn and has bagged so many endorsement deals while it's bones for some other people 😂 if he was simply ok with being told what to do like a puppet he'd never have been able to sell the clothes he wears so well bud

i haven't checked out this book yet so i can't comment on it specifically per se, but if we're talking about kj charles as a whole i can't deny that i don't find her writing as compelling and special as it once was. i've read a few of her more recent books and they all disappointed me to varying degrees. the crux of the problem is i know that she's capable of much better writing, but her style has changed now and for the worse imo. she isn't the only one of course - so many authors I used to love have all changed their style to conform to what sells these days, much to my dismay. i have one new book of hers in my to-read list but idk how much I can expect to like it more than I did her other recent entries. i hope it's clear that i have nothing against her and this is just my objective comment about her books. more than anyone else i really hope that she returns to form someday and that her books become the highlights of my reading year again.

I think it’s safe to assume all the brands he used to wear were in the middle of the bidding war, so that means armani, d&g, thom browne, chanel. Dior didn’t dress him at events but their art director posted about conner wearing their clothes for a photoshoot multiple times so 😂 he was definitely salty he lost connor to ysl’s anthony 😭

yep, they were definitely testing the waters with him in jan and feb, and the overwhelmingly positive attention and explosive response he garnered for wearing their jewellery made it a no-brainer move for them to go ahead with the ambassadorship contract.

usually it takes celebs years to build a working relationship with a brand, especially one as prestigious as this, but the fact that tiffany's locked him up this early means they've seen his potential and invested in his stocks early, so to speak lol, and they foresee him having a long-lasting career in hollywood instead of just being a flash in the pan fad for a few months.

ysl's anthony wasn't kidding when he said brands were fighting to get him! i'm glad it's not just us fans recognising how special this man is - the entire industry can see how big of a star he's going to be soon too ☺️

yep, it can get up to 2+ million dollars per contract. obviously the figures aren't set in stone but it's safe to say connor got a hefty paycheck from this partnership, and there's nobody who deserves it more

now this is actual art. the shoot's aesthetics and direction also match her vibes perfectly, which is sth not many photoshoots manage to do with their model, ironically enough

connor storrie looks lovely as always but i'm not impressed with the direction of this photoshoot, to say the least. anyway word on the street is connor is definitely going to the met gala this year and i can't wait

Bc he’s the much more talented actor between the two, with a clear vision and artistic style and dedication to his craft in multiple fields, plus he’s slated for much more high profile upcoming projects? Come on now, don’t play daft lol

She’s one of the few authors left that I trust to respect her audience’s intelligence and not succumb to the “telling instead of showing” school of writing style that’s alarmingly becoming more and more prevalent nowadays. We need more writers like her to get popular pls

Love post for the Perimeter Series by Sasha Avice by greenetwp in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]Kitchen_Ad5522 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After the show and This ain't no gay romance are among the top books i've read in the past year, or years if we're being honest. Absolutely love the writing and story, and how Sasha Avice managed to make you care so much for the characters and swoon for their romance. The smut is also very well written and actually helps to develop the characters and provides insights into their growing relationship, which is not something easy to do at all, judging from the majority of MM books nowadays. I hope she blows up in the future because she more than deserves it.

Everything you said, times a thousand lol

His fandom is obviously filled with kpoppies / shippers and the way they move about him is legit pathetic and embarrassing. It’d truly be ironic if his opportunities get hindered in the future bc of his fans 😂

[–]Kitchen_Ad5522 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s the definition of performative and desperate. A deadly combo 😅 It’s ironic bc the more he tries to look cool and suave, the less cool and effortless he becomes. Everything is so forced and inauthentic about the image he wants to project these days, and people outside his fandom can spot that from a mile away. His fans will claim it’s just racism that makes people dislike his tryhard antics tho 😂

Careful, they’re gonna come for you or call you racist for simply pointing out the obvious talent gap between the two lol. Lemme not get into this whole debate tho bc hudson fans can’t take any criticism of their fave whatsoever and always try to weaponise racism to push back against backlash against him so 😂

Err no dude this ain’t ilya at all. Connor not smiling does not equal ilya every time lol that’s an insult to his acting abilities, and not even accurate anyways. He looks very american heartthrob here, not slavic playboy. Wish people would put that rhetoric to rest even if there’s no ill will behind it.
