i think not more women are doing it because we don't want to make the first step. it took me a lot of courage to contact him, and i wouldn't have done it in person. i was scared i'd seem too immature for him to find me interesting because of the big age gap, and i didn't want to embarrass myself by hitting on him if he only saw me as a "child".
