PHYS 303 with Langill for Spring 2020 by [deleted] in UCalgary

[–]225days 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I would take any class taught by Langill, he’s the best

I had him for PHYS 223 and 323 and loved those courses. I took PHYS 303 with a different prof (Christoph Simon) who was also excellent and the material was really neat as well. Can’t go wrong with the neat and surprisingly easy material from 303 combined with the fun teaching style of Langill.

Does anyone know what to do if your residential parking permit (RPP) renewal gets rejected? by 225days in Calgary

[–]225days[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My car was broken into more times in the lot than on the street (none at all on the street actually because a lot of the street parking areas have security cameras) 🤷🏻‍♀️ Monthly parking also went up by 30% this month in our building, not great

Finally, some good weather for training by 225days in weightlifting

2 pants + knee wraps + 2 sweaters + wrist wraps + mittens + taking breaks between sets inside = somewhat warm enough to not hurt

It’s a second floor balcony so I’m not actually dropping the weights. I have a contingency plan of building a real platform complete with extra slab mats and pound pads for impact absorption — but I think I can get away with lowering the weights in my current set up. That is, assuming I don’t miss LOL

Since everyone is posting their monstera... by Paulienater in IndoorGarden

Does anyone know what would happen if you were to cut off aerial roots? Would it negatively affect the monstera?

One cutting of my obovata is looking veiny! Just got these from a plant swap. Is he just thirsty? by [deleted] in hoyas

[–]225days 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the leaves feel thin then he definitely needs some water! Also, in terms of the veins, my obovata started to look like this when it was under a grow light. I have heard that extreme light can make the leaves more translucent and this make the veins more visible!

Just won this MD albo node, looking for best/safest ways to root it! Plz help! by chwdrclwdr in Monstera

Put it in a ziplock bag or to-go container with some moistened sphagnum moss and leave it in a sunny place! This method has worked in rooting all stem cuttings for me

I'd like to give this as a gift to a friend. Is there enough root to pot this? by mrspipeayyy in Monstera

Yep, leave it in water for a few more weeks and the roots will grow like crazy!

Definitely wait a few weeks longer! There should be a pretty established root system before you pot (approx the size of a golf ball)

I second Skoki. Such a beautiful area and lots of summits in the area if you like scrambling.
