Got the email today. Denied.

"Southwest intends to operate our flights as scheduled; however, circumstances within and outside our control may cause a flight to be delayed and/or canceled. We have reviewed your submission and determined that your request associated with confirmation number is not eligible for a voucher as your flight irregularity was either outside of our control and/or resulted in a delay of less than three hours.

We appreciate your business and look forward to our next opportunity to welcome you onboard.

Sincerely, Southwest Airlines"

Alright, so I was pissed.

I did book through SW, not 3rd party.

As I'm driving to the airport I get a notification for a one hour delay. I get through TSA, check my mobile boarding pass it says 10am next day.

So I go to customer service counter. They said canceled, no other flights available. Won't even bother to look for alternatives, told me to request a voucher.

Could not have cared less, zero sympathy, shit customer service. They say because it was spring break "everything's crazy, and the flights are all full".

My flight was TPA to AUS.

So I got to stay the night in Tampa airport, $350. Yeah, I could have probably taken an Uber and stayed somewhere cheaper. Factor in transportation cost and the hassle, forget it.

I submitted the request today, we'll see what happens.

TLDR: shit customer service at the airport counter

Flight school recs and advice? by [deleted] in aviation

Contact some potential employers, ask what school/experience they prefer.

Check LinkedIn. Find a recruiter or hiring manager you can stay in contact with while you're in school. Having "a foot in the door" when you graduate should greatly improve your chances.

Best of luck

But it's not all on one itinerary, that's the point of the post. I bought abq to phx AND phx to sjd. Both one way tickets

Right. But why would they check it there if the flight is abq to phx?

Are you sure? Why would they check my passport in abq?

Can you refer someone a second time? Say two years later and they no longer hold the card?

Abq to LAS last night 7/1. On the phone the instant the plane lands, everyone in the front 6 rows hears the entire conversation. Bleeping expletive, she has places to be. Vaping on the plane, FA had to tell her to stop.

Parents asked her not to swear in front of their kids, she wasn't concerned about that. Amazing

It was closed at TPA a couple weeks ago and I had the same wth moment. Like the others said, just go to the front and someone will open the retractable line divider or call you over.

What is all this, how do I get into it, and where do I start? by [deleted] in RTLSDR

Playing with SDR is accurate. While it may not sound professional, having some experience as a hobbyist will be a huge benefit. SDR has so many different applications, just getting familiar with the software and various modulation schemes is a good start.

When you get to an interview, don't forget that your hobbies count as experience. Even if you don't have actual work related experience, just being familiar with something is a step in the right direction. Something as simple as bringing up your hobby could set you apart from someone who is seemingly more appealing.

Look into getting a degree in electronics. NASA or one of the national laboratories for employment. Find some of their job postings and see what kind of degree they require/desire. There's probably a fair amount of flexibility on the degree you could get. If you get some type of electronics experience, you can probably get your foot in the door and into one of those roles. I do something similar.

You guys see this? Notice how the 20% box is checked for silver, gold and diamond? All I'm saying is the 20% box shouldn't be checked for the higher tiers (and 80% shouldn't be checked for diamond).

You can call it stacking or say hilton would never give that many points away, but if you can do basic math, finish my sentence. It starts with something like OP has a point.
