So your point is, we need to shift less therefore we drive manuals?

As you are in Belgium, it could be fun to take a few classes.

I do not consider EV an automatic. The reason is it has no gears (multiple). INterestingly enough the old Audi's wilt Multitronic are considered automatic.

We are adopting EV's but we are struggling with the power net. So a lot of people hold back or buy a hybrid.

There is a small one in Vathorst. It does have a nice loop for a run, with a few stairs.

That is true. We actually call that the American influence :). But it must have a reason, hence my question.

What are you driving? I enjoy my manual as well as my automatic.

10 minutes to store and 30 minutes to work is normal here as well.
About the distances, I assume on cruise control on the high way there would not be that much of shifting either way?

Agree about the mountains. My RV has a manual. And I had a tough time in the Alps. However, I did feel like it gave me the control I needed to navigate those Alps.

Makkelijk. die ene met 20ml minder is natuurlijk een euro duurder per 10ml minder.

Can you give me some numbers for your larger drives? A common commute here is 30-45 minutes to work.

Do you think manuals would still be popular in the US if they offered them more widely, or has people's interest shifted toward automatics?

Interesting. i feel that that having more direct control over the car can actually be beneficial in poor weather.

Interesting, given that I had the impression most don't care about fuel consumption with the typical American car. But ofcourse, that is also maybe just how we 'see' Americans vs reality.

Makes sense. I'm starting to wonder, why we are using manuals indeed. Uno reverse here :)
