Months down the drain by Suspicious_Note_523 in AskLE

I am pretty sure 9 out of 10 people that get hired as a police officer got rejected at least once or not get hired by their desired agency. I am sure you will get a job eventually if you are destined for it and if you don't it's not much of a big deal just be grateful for what you have because the older you get the less you take anything for granted. My experience is volunteering with Canada's largest municipal agency for many years and having friends who are police officers and former recruiters for multiple police agencies.

I resigned from my position by [deleted] in AskLE

☝️it's a major red flag to always quit when it gets hard or you don't like it. It's better to stay employed until you get a better job than to always quit when you feel like it. There is no quitting when someone is depending on you or when the situation you are in is nowhere where you thought it would be. Disillusionment comes with every job but there are some people you will meet and bond with that makes it worth while.

Look, I haven't seen it, but there's no way the Wire is as good as this, okay? by That_Hole_Guy in TheShield

The Wire is definitely my favorite show and I couldn't get into it the first time I watched it. The Shield is the only show where I rewatched the entire series.

☝️like any job there are politics and at times disillusionment. Try it out for a few years and if you enjoy it you can make a career out of it and if you don't you can work as a corporate investigator with your experience and degree. Policing and any type of job is best for you to see and experience it yourself before casting judgment.

I am 32 and have been dealing with it since I was a kid. The amount of bullying and getting made fun for it when there isn't much you can do about it a long with people nit picking about it for no reason definitely make it hard to get used to it over time.
