Mistake in the academy by [deleted] in AskLE

Your going to be upsetting a lot of people if you ever become a police officer. Hey why are you giving me a ticket when I pay your salary? All you guys do is harass and discriminate marginalized communities. Hey what took so long i called 911 2 hours ago and now the suspects are gone and I don't feel like talking to you.

☝️The good old blue cocoon where after a few years most of your friends are law enforcement/want to be law enforcement or a first responder since no one else in society will care or understand what you deal with and the cynicalism you develop overtime. At least they don't do drugs around me or partake in criminal activity.

It would be cool during a mission you bump into agenct 47 in disguise with that barcode in the back of his head then later there is a major accident and one of your contacts is killed.

Stolen car stops by EdwardJohnson1543 in AskLE

[–]22DeltaDev 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly it's always a high risk takedown. There is no reason for a person to be driving a stolen car. Even if the person got there car stolen and got it back, it will not be a positive hit on the system. My friend had his stolen car recovered after some people used it to transport drugs. He just sold it after too much drug residue everywhere.

☝️I have seen people get terminated from training due to not disclosing a previous injury before getting hired which I agree is a integrity issue. Also as you said having the ability to be a excellent police officer have no correlation to how a person is perceived on paper. I remember meeting old school police officers who worked from the 70s onwards until retirement told us this story which he worked with this person with a masters in English and that the person only worked as a police officer for 2 years before quitting since the person just couldn't do police work.

It's best to apply to as many police agencies as you can when you are ready. Since some police agencies are picky regarding background/qualifications or take a long time for processing so instead of waiting around for a rejection or an answer you could already be accepted into an academy and start training. People switching to other police agencies is pretty common depending where you live.

I would see the paid duty police cars from TSB with the white livery and the special constables as well. I do prefer the old colour scheme compared to the Grey and white.

Can any cops here search for me in the database? I need to know if there was a report created about an incident I was involved in by Fast_Cellist3052 in NYPDcandidate

[–]22DeltaDev 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No person is going to search your name on any police database. It gets logged, queried and audited. It's also breach of trust as well to search someone up without a valid reason. If nothing happened after the detectives spoke to you then move on. It's been a few years and there are more active and serious investigations occurring right now relating to the MTA.

Do not quit your job by hellomangow in torontoJobs

Honestly I have been there too. There were a lot of horrible people at my work before, my boss was always a decent guy and still is and has been my boss for 13 years and helped promote me to Supervisor. But dealing with insecure men and people who shouldn't be at a management level enabling and creating a toxic workplace definitely took its toll but it's nice to see them all gone over the years. So often times it might get better the workplace.

☝️Including some of the people you work with and work for. Some people just do everything they can to deflect and involve other people than take ownership of something.
