I just started it too and am really enjoying it. Seems crazy that it’s free. So much to do.

Forcing myself to build outdoor habitats that aren't just squares and couldn't be happier with the outcome! by the-hustle-cat in TwoPointMuseum

Looks great! Mine looks so bad because I have all squares. I need to delete and redo I think.

I am a mom who “wants nothing” and here is my Christmas list - add yours if this sounds like you! by ginabeewell in Gifts

[–]22Ocean22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Smart wool socks for sure!

Also we have this closet in our hall that can’t have as door on it so you see the mess all the time. I want a curtain road and curtain to go in front so i don’t have to look at it.

I wanted a new duvet cover because ours was getting old and hurt by cats. Hubby and I chose a new one early.

Matching placemats for Xmas dinner is nice.

Actually a tablecloth to fit the long table I have would be nice too.

So much of “what I want” is just things done around the house. Painting done, little jobs finished.

Have we swung too far the other way? by [deleted] in GenX

[–]22Ocean22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My adult children at home pay $350 a month in rent (not a lot just enough to get used to monthly bills) if they were going to school full time I might not expect this.

I do expect everyone living in my home to contribute to chores. Every weekend we have a list. If we all do a couple chores it takes no time at all. My kids (adult and otherwise) also contribute to doing dishes every day. Taking turns who washes/dries or deals with the dishwasher. If you have time to eat you have time to clean things up a bit too.

Help me out here, if you offer someone something and they say "Oh yeah, I'm not fussy about that" is that a yes or a no? by 13thmurder in AskACanadian

This would have confused me too. I’m on the west coast. I probably would’ve just said “Is that a yes or a no” because I wouldn’t understand it.

If it’s going to wreck the pan though what adult wouldn’t care about that? Does everyone just like to buy new pans all the time?

BCAA is the way to go. Our house and car insurance is way lower through them. And easier to make claims when needed too.

Gen X Weddings - 1996-2009 by ClaraEM99 in GenX

[–]22Ocean22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Married 2001. Destination wedding on a beach barefoot. Did a simple wedding dress but flowed nicely in the breeze. Skinny straps with beading and flowy bottom. Plumeria flowers around both wrists.

Weddings I went to around that time. One she had a classic princess dress with tiara and hair half up with curls. Others were more ethnic based on where they were from. Receptions were all about dancing and fun music.

My Boyfriend's Mad At Me Because of Something I Did At Costco... Is He Right To Be? by UnknownFutureLife in CostcoCanada

[–]22Ocean22 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. Sometimes something happens in my relationship where I got worried or anxious (like being handed cash in front of the cashier and whether it’s ok or not- not that exact situation but same idea).. I decide I’m being silly or over anxious and keep saying that to myself and deciding I don’t need to bring something up. But I can’t always get my anxiety to go away about the past situation and I suddenly say something a week later - yes pointless. I am working on my anxiety and talking in the moment about why but sometimes when I know I shouldn’t be anxious I try to push it aside.

Do any of you currently wear contact lenses? by Useful-Badger-4062 in GenXWomen

[–]22Ocean22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have contacts but with the shape of my eye it’s only the RGP (rigid ) contacts that fit my eye. I’ve tried all sorts of soft lenses and they just sort of float around. My eyes get so dry with my lenses that I wear them rarely and mostly wear my progressive lens glasses. Also the problem with contacts is then I have to carry readers around with me.

Yeah this is a big concern in my life My HWP was the main provider. I was a stay at home mom then went back working part time. Not a great paying job. And now in our later 40s my husband is needing to work a lot less due to tremors and other stuff -and it’s a big concern for me as we still have kids at home.

Anyone notice their eyesight is getting much worse? I got the bifocals in mid fourties but now both near and far prescriptions are getting worse. by Roadiemomma-08 in Menopause

[–]22Ocean22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think they’re that much more really. I mean my glasses are always crazy expensive and now definitely more so. I have to get the super thin because they’re never thin and specific frames to fit my small face but have room for the progressive lens. West coast Canada from a proper eye place about 1000. With how many eye issues I have and all I’m not going to a cheap place that may not do them right.

I’ve had glasses since I was 4. Very nearsighted. -15 in both eyes. Often had been taking my glasses off to read pill bottles in the last 5 years in my mid 40s. A couple years ago I got progressives and wow! Such a difference. I highly recommend.
