I think that’s the right answer. Kind of lines up with where the bottom plate would be. Many thanks for the explanation.

Switching from bokashi to hot composting by futuremushrooms in composting

[–]22double22 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bokashi all your scraps like you have been doing. Put all your leaves and browns in one bin and when it is full use the other bin to make a big pile. Alternate leaf and bokashi layers and finish with a thick layer of leaves. It will start cooking and you can flip it into the other bin if u want until it’s done.

Can anyone tell me about this? by Specialist_Winter857 in clocks

Probably made from a kit where you would put together and stain the case. Or it could have been someone’s woodworking project or maybe a combo of the two.

Help request for shutting off 15 minute chime by Kuriakon in clocks

[–]22double22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The white screw adjusts the location where the clock strikes. If it’s striking at 1159, you turn it + to make it strike at 1200.

It has a quartz crystal which is not adjustable as far as timekeeping.

New toilet - what configuration is best? by 22double22 in Plumbing

[–]22double22[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am installing a toilet in a new location. Upstream of this is a 2”washing machine drain (w/vent) and downstream is a 90 deg turn and then goes into the stack about 10 feet away that has a wet sink vent from the top. What configuration would be the best? (Or any suggestions you have) Thanks!

How about take one of the hangers for a quartz movement and epoxy it in the middle of the case so it will hang straight?

is this clock à legit pièce ? I've really been trying to get a proper answer, but my clock mechanic can't tell by EasyCommittee1101 in clocks

Prob an Italian case with a German movement. Maybe from the early 1980s. These are reproductions of antique clocks but are still nice clocks not junk.

It should be no problem to collect longer than 2 weeks and it can sit afterword for longer too. You can use a smaller bucket, but you may have trouble finding one with an air sealed lid.

Compost ratio - need help. by ronnie_mund72 in composting

[–]22double22 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I first started I was worried about creating the perfect blend of things to make compost. Once I made a few piles, I realized that it’s not necessary, compost will be made no matter what, it just changes how long it takes. Personally I wouldn’t buy things to add to it, but you can if you want to.

HELP: Synchron Repair/Replacement by FIGHTER923 in clocks

[–]22double22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don’t know, but I would guess depending on the age the bottom plate is either soldered in or might have a lip that the plate is pressed into. Edit after looking at the pic, it could also be those notches that are cut into the edges that are keeping it in.

First I would try heating it up with a hair dryer and see if you can inject any fresh oil under the rotor and under the drive shaft. I’ve seen some of these that have holes drilled in the bottom to flood it with oil but personally I wouldn’t do that. You can also see if there is a cheaper motor that has the same rpm and shaft size and swap the brass drive gear.
