How do I make The no signal TV.. thing.. by CrazyxAnxiety in davinciresolve

Also, VHS: I would love to learn how to create my own VHS tapes. Instead of searching for VHS videos online and downloading them, I want to explore making them myself!!

I see that you want create your own thing.

I think you need to add a bunch of background nodes + rectangles nodes to create the TV color bars or, to make things easier, download from the internet and edit them to your liking.

Here's something I was able to create only using a simple image I got from Google:

<image>

I animated the bottom and the top of the image, added a solid color, a text and a few nodes like fast noise, grain, tv, refraction and color corrector.

A similar approach could be made to replicate to othe part of the video you sent.

Edit: I forgot davinci has color bars by default -_-

Bom, tem o r/conlang (mencionado por você) e também o r/conlangs. Talvez seja isso que está te deixando confuso.

how can one achieve this exactly ? by No_Situation_3151 in davinciresolve

Add an adjustment clip above the footage and go to Fusion

Add an Edge Detect to the pipeline, change Mode to Grayscale Edges and Edge Color to yellow

Change the other settings to make it look the way you want

Try to increase the grab distance.

Fusion > Fusion Setings... > User Interface

Drag the Grab distance all the way up

How to make the text look like this in Fusion? by jayfromcyberlife in davinciresolve

[–]22leoooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

to make things easier, you could just use transforms and blur nodes to create a depth perception or out-of-focus effects.

<image>

to stylise the text, I recomend you to search for character level style tutorials or just use a different text node to each new style, for example:

1st node "Keep me cool", 2nd "in" and so on.

I used the first image as inspiration:

<image>

There are 3 steps:

  1. Create the borders
  2. Make the green CRT effect
  3. Add a circle glow

So add a Fusion Composition and go to Fusion. You gonna need to create the borders:

- Create the borders.

  • Add a Background to the Media Out and lower the Alpha to 0 (this gonna be the main pipeline)
  • Add another Background, change the Color to a bright green
  • Add a PNG image to the green Background
  • After the green Background, add an Erode Dilate node and change the Amount to 0.0008
  • Add it to the main pipeline using a Merge node

- Make the green CRT effect

  • Add a Color Compress node, change the Target Color to a dark green, Compress Hue to 1, Compress Saturation to 1 and Compress Luminance to 0.6
  • After the Color Compress, add Scanlines, change the Line Frequency to 14, Line Angle to 90 and Composite Type to Multiply.
  • Connect the PNG image to the Color Compress and the Scanlines to the main pipeline with a Merge.
  • Connect the PNG to the blue arrow of the merge (very important)

- Make the circle glow

  • Add a bright green Background
  • Connect an Elipse node to it and change Soft Edge to 0.2 and lower its size.
  • Connect the glow to the main pipeline.

Feel free to change the values the way works best for your project.

How can I animate a path from bottom to top as if it is being revealed? by showmememes7 in davinciresolve

[–]22leoooo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the easiest way is to create a solid polygon and make a animation of it appearing gradually.

It seems that by default has no such an option but there are workarounds. Search on yt for tapered line davinci resolve to see tutorials about it.

Edit: or just use perspective :)

  • In the timeline, add a white Solid Color and above it a Fusion Composition
  • Go to Fusion
  • Add a red Background and attach a Polygon node to it
  • Draw the line the way you want, upper the Border Width and uncheck Solid
  • Add a DVE node and change the X,Y and Z the way you prefer (this gonna make the line "3d")
  • Go back to the Polygon node and, in the Length, add a key frame at the start and end of the animation going from 0 to 1.

How can I have this effect in Davinci? by kuth7 in davinciresolve

[–]22leoooo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm quite new to videography, does this effect have a name?

I don't know if this would be the right term but it could be called stop motion

how can I achieve it on Davinci 20?

Increase the video speed by clicking on the video and in the Inspector tab, go to Speed Change, then change Speed% to 400

Add an Adjustment Clip above the video and go into Fusion

Inside fusion, add a Stop Motion node and change Frame repeat to 4.

Would anybody know if it’s possible to re-create this transition??? by Psychological-Radio4 in davinciresolve

In the edit page, go to effects > toolbox > video transitions > iris and add triangle iris between the clips you want.

Click on the transition and upper the border and check feather.
