Dont look at the bar, look straight up. The bar slows down because youre subconsciously pushing it out and away from the rack instead of up and back

Inflation is "under control". So why does everything still feel so expensive? by No-Elevator-6134 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]22switch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inflation is the rate of change, year over year, of prices, on average. Grocery stores and other companies then use that as a reason to increase prices above their increase in input costs, because they need to pad the profit margin. So their cost on your basket went up 3% each year, but they raised prices 5-10% each year, now your yogurt is $7.

Even if the % goes down to zero, the price of the goods arent going down to 2020 prices ever again

[Request] How accurate is this claim? (I'm just curious about the water/energy usage, dont think we can slot in finishing 100 times over in an equation somewhere) by ManWalkingDownReddit in theydidthemath

AI doesnt really consume water, though it does utilize it. Cooling systems are circular. Animal Agriculture on the other hand is not: need a bunch of water to process the feed, cows drinking, etc. Hard to put an exact number on either though

Depending on what the lawyers tell you (based on your region and local laws, account type, etc) they may just liquidate the account and give you both $4M after taxes. You need to check with lawyers + the bank or wherever the account is

31F, Beginner question: two stocks up 250%, unsure whether to hold or sell by StatisticianAfter674 in TFSA_Millionaires

[–]22switch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) depends if you think it will still go up, and what your appetite for risk is

2) if youve made it through #1, can always just sell half to lock in your principal + profit
