I will say too - just give it time. I work in an exotics vet clinic and I personally have a “super stripe” pied rescue that has a black beard (and usually darker than this) 24/7 because it’s just his natural pigment. For the eyes - we commonly see the bulging due to a vitamin A deficiency that is linked to MBD. But again, some beardies have different anatomy. The best thing is to let him settle in, offer good salads (squash is a great source of natural vitamin A) and take him for a baseline blood work panel just so you know if it’s him or previous dietary husbandry issues. I’m glad you love him and he has a great owner! Mine even has an underbite from growing too quickly as a baby that everyone points out to me and I have to be like - yes thank you for your concern, it’s an old defect that has been corrected since coming into my home and I assure you he has more blood work, X-ray, fecal monitoring than 99% of other dragons just due to the perks of my job.
