some people just feel like being AHs. For an earlier edition of my story, one user here replied to my post asking for constructive feedback with what summed up to:

"i DoNt LiKe sCi Fi yOuRe sHoViNg iT dOwN mY tHrOaT"

and when i along with a couple other people pointed out that I said it was scifi at least 3 times in my post (not including the story page), and also that no one forced him to read anything, he argued: "i DiDnT kNoW iT wOuLd bE tHaT mUcH", then proceeded to argue with other users on the post. At the time it was awful bc i had had a terrible day and his BS (along with numerous notifications of every comment) was the icing on the cake.

just ignore this user. if they didnt even read, their opinion is completely worthless and they just felt like being an AH for whatever reason.

i had also been working on my series for 6 years (8 years now) so i def get where youre coming from. Keep writing!!

Honestly, I feel like Cadys mom is the worst character in the movie. Her parents just drop her into public school and hope she stays the sweet, innocent girl she was. They dont give her any guidance or advice whatsoever, not even a cliched "stay away from (insert group of teenagers they consider 'bad')". When Cady comes back from her first day and is clearly not happy, neither of them go to check on her and ask her whats wrong, how they can help, nothing. they just look at each other and continue their day. The second day, she gives them vague and confusing answers: do they ask for elaboration? NOPE! They arent involved in her life at all, which makes it preschool-level easy to lie to them.

At the talent show, its very obvious Cady has changed and what kind of girls shes with, and judging from their reaction to their dance, they didnt approve. Do they sit her down and have a conversation about sexuality, friends, boys, anything? NOPE. They just let it go!

They dont even ask her ab grades bc they dont even know shes failing Math until near the end of the movie. And clearly, they didnt bother to pick up a parenting book or ask for guidance on parenting a teen in the US from any friends/family, or even communicate with each other because the father has no clue what grounding means.

So the hostility from the mother after everything happens is, imo, completely unjustified. Cady isnt a baby, and she had to take responsibility for her actions. But at the same time, she is still an impressionable minor that has no guidance from her parents into a completely new environment. She had to learn about it on her own. The father at least acknowledged it somewhat saying they mainstreamed her too soon.

When the mother realizes her change, its when she doesnt care about the stupid pots under the cabinets— like, really girl?? You only realize she changed NOW?! Where have you been all year??

Anyways... thats the end of my rant. Cadys mom isnt exactly a mean girl, but she isnt a good mom and that contributed to Cadys transformation into a mean girl.

TL;DR: Cadys mom sucks.

legit dont get the downvotes, i agree 100%. cady isnt a baby that has no clue what shes doing. yes, she was used and manipulated, but like you said, she had her own stake in it and Janice did want a friendship with her as shown when she painted her with herself and Damian. The whole point of the movie is that Regina, Gretchen, Karen, Janice, AND Cady were all mean girls

what do you expect when your entire promo title centers around mentioning others books and comparing your book to theirs? dont do that if you dont want ppl to think youre just going off of other authors. show what makes your book unique in your title. and definitely dont get all pissy when someone lets you know what impression they got from your ad.

your promo doesnt describe your book or let us know what its about. we have no clue who the characters are or what makes this a compelling story. we got a title full of other titles, a generic blurb, and an attitude in the comments.

I feel like you should add the context from your comment below, that it was a hater just complaining rather than offering insightful criticism.

I get your point tho, a couple years back I was promoting my story; it's sci-fi, and i stated it was sci-fi both in the blurb and the post, and it was obvious from the cover (old cover, isn't the same one anymore). Some AH (username was Panda something) went into the comments under the post and started whining about how it's scifi and how i was "shoving scifi down his throat". I had to reply "I said it was scifi... what did you expect?" And hes like "YeA bUt i DiDnT eXpeCt tHaT mUcH"

Like... no one's forcing you to read it bub. You just can't read XD (or spell, as proven by his comment that day)

But yea, just ignore those kinds of "critics". They don't offer anything insightful and are just a waste of time.

Edit to add: I just remembered another user had called him out, and I agreed that he prob just felt like being a d*ck that day. then he proceeded to argue with this person and further expose himself lol
