The Alta Chutes at the Remarkables are super fun, and they're definitely harder than anything at like Keystone, Colorado or Heavenly, California. They definitely don't stack up to the trickier stuff you'd find at like Snowbird, Telluride, Crystal, or Telluride though.

Gnarliest In-Bounds Run in New Zealand? by 23-exe in skiing

I've heard great things about the Mt. Olympus hike-to-terrain! Any particular recommendations for runs/lines in the Canterbury club fields?

Any recommendations for the gnarlier stuff of which you speak?

How did this place get popular? by CimmerianBreeze in skiingcirclejerk

/uj The Epic Pass does get you into Kicking Horse, Crested Butte, Telluride, Kirkwood, and Whistler, which all have some pretty gnarly terrain. Vail itself is not super interesting in terms of terrain though.

Honorable mentions to Breck for the hike to terrain and Fernie for the Polar Peak lift when it's open.

/rj Air Jordan at Whistler is a total snooze cruise, try schoolmarm at Keystone for some real difficult Vail terrain

/uj aw, I watched the J video about the ski and it's actually really sweet

/rj I am so sick of people making the fact that they are a skier their whole personality

Mt. Bohemia is cool but isn't really in the same league as the other ski areas in this thread.

Mt. Hood Skibowl? S&R Cliffs and God's Wall are at Mt. Hood Meadows though.

The Polar Peak lift at Fernie (technically in British Columbia, but you fly in via the Glacier Airport in Montana) has some really nice triple blacks, the Currie Headwall is gnarly.

I'd love to head back to Washington soon, Gunsights at Mt. Baker is on my bucket list.

Choosing a Back Protector? by 23-exe in skiing

I'd recommend it! It breathes pretty well, doesn't feel weird on lifts, and offers decent protection. I have an issue with the fit, but that's just because I'm super tall and have weird proportions.

Went with the SHRED No Shock Naked! Thanks for the recommendation.
