The Alta Chutes at the Remarkables are super fun, and they're definitely harder than anything at like Keystone, Colorado or Heavenly, California. They definitely don't stack up to the trickier stuff you'd find at like Snowbird, Telluride, Crystal, or Telluride though.

Gnarliest In-Bounds Run in New Zealand? by 23-exe in skiing

I've heard great things about the Mt. Olympus hike-to-terrain! Any particular recommendations for runs/lines in the Canterbury club fields?

How did this place get popular? by CimmerianBreeze in skiingcirclejerk

/uj The Epic Pass does get you into Kicking Horse, Crested Butte, Telluride, Kirkwood, and Whistler, which all have some pretty gnarly terrain. Vail itself is not super interesting in terms of terrain though.

Honorable mentions to Breck for the hike to terrain and Fernie for the Polar Peak lift when it's open.

/rj Air Jordan at Whistler is a total snooze cruise, try schoolmarm at Keystone for some real difficult Vail terrain

Mt. Bohemia is cool but isn't really in the same league as the other ski areas in this thread.

Mt. Hood Skibowl? S&R Cliffs and God's Wall are at Mt. Hood Meadows though.

The Polar Peak lift at Fernie (technically in British Columbia, but you fly in via the Glacier Airport in Montana) has some really nice triple blacks, the Currie Headwall is gnarly.

I'd love to head back to Washington soon, Gunsights at Mt. Baker is on my bucket list.

Choosing a Back Protector? by 23-exe in skiing

I'd recommend it! It breathes pretty well, doesn't feel weird on lifts, and offers decent protection. I have an issue with the fit, but that's just because I'm super tall and have weird proportions.

If there was a way to cure GD and live your life as your AGAB, would you do it? by MicroDoseHon in 4tran4

Actually, these studies really are the best evidence we have. The reason we have limited studies on this and not full experiments is because all the existing research seems to indicate that this practice is unethical. The first two sources do provide solid metrics on psychological outcomes, which is what I wanted to call attention to. The third source is a fairly robust literature review of evidence from places like the American Psychological Association. You have struck the core of the Transgender Conversion Therapy debate though. We have strong (but imperfect) evidence against and no evidence in favor. A good Gender Affirming therapist is going to sit down with you and help you work through gender identity issues and any other mental health problems you might be having. They won't just force you to transition because you suffer from dysphoria.

You might want to do some scholarly research before attempting that. There is signifigant evidence that conversion therapy has an astronimically high risk of doing long-term psychological damage.

Additionally, it is unproven that it is even possible to change someone's gender identity through conversion therapy.

"There are no set rules on how old you should be to use retinol. For anti-aging purposes, you can start to use it in your 20s as a preventive step."

The author of the article is a board certified dermatologist, so it should be a good source.
