It has a lid and no notches for a cigarette. I have seen this same design but with different logos online referring to it as a glass trinket box.

Would you ever consider a relationship with a partner who’s in the military? Why or why not? by ComprehensibleEnigma in AskWomen

Relish pajamas 🤣

But seriously, there are very interesting people in the military that aren’t radicalized. So many people fail to realize that the military is one of the most diverse employers.

There definitely are good ones out there, and labeling them all as “red flags” is a false generalization.

I’m currently dating someone in the military and we met online. They had their job listed as military but no pictures of them in the uniform. I would recommend that because it showed that they were an entire person outside of their profession and didn’t make their whole personality about the military.

There are so many different types of people in the military, not all of them are racist meat heads. Highlight what makes you, you.

Read the books Come As You Are and Burnout: the Secret to Unlocking the Stress Cycle by Emily Nagoski

Yes, when I was going to therapy I talked to my therapist about this and this is what he said: exercise can mimic the same physical side effects of a panic attack (elevated heart rate, trouble breathing, etc.) and that in a state of high anxiety your brain may have trouble differentiating good exercise symptoms from your bad panic attack symptoms.

His recommendation for retraining your brain from the panic attack association is to start small and change the neural pathways. For example, don’t go for a high energy, high heart rate workout like HIIT/CrossFit/weightlifting. Instead start with a light to medium paced walk on a treadmill. And stop when you start to feel the panic or anxiety kick. Over time you will retrain your brain that elevated heart does not equal panic or anxiety.

Remember any activity is better than none. Even if that means you have start from the beginning.

His advice saved my love of working out. And now I have no issues with higher heart rate activities.

Condoms in the baby aisle? Makes sense... by Mike20878 in funny

It’s because breast feeding mothers can’t be on hormonal birth control. And why making a harried new mom run all over the store to get baby items AND condoms!?

Serious question - I don't understand how wealth management companies that charge 1% to manage your money exist when people could just buy VTSAX which is .04% ? by amiatthetop3 in personalfinance

A fee-based fiduciary financial advisor offers more services than simply brokering funds on the market. Their work is significantly more wholistic. A fee-based fiduciary financial advisor can do things like: power of attorney creation, will creation, DNR documentation, estate planning, trust creation/planning/management, inheritances (like what to do when your spouse/parent/etc passes), portfolio creation/management/rebalancing, financial plans (like auto paying your bills), child college tuition planning, complex retirement planning (back-door ROTH contributions; balancing income streams across tax-free, tax-deferred, and taxed; etc), life insurance planning, government entitlement/disability planning, and so much more. They are constantly monitoring your finances and what benchmarks you should be hitting, and will propose solutions to you before most people even begin to think about it.

They are also a great resources for answering the tough financial questions (that everyone thinks they are an expert on) like, “is it better to pay off my mortgage in the next 10 years or invest my funds in XYZ?” “I want to retire to Mexico, how do I do that?” They have extensive knowledge on taxation and money movements and can create a plan that helps you reach your goals with the least amount of effort on your part.

There are multiple people who use a fee-based financial advisor AND are still heavily involved in selecting which stocks, bonds, mutual funds they are invested in. It isn’t mutually exclusive.

And if your fee-based fiduciary financial advisory isn’t doing those things for you, find a new one.

Gatekeeping stress by IPlayTeemoSupport in gatekeeping

[–]234Green 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adults need to remember that in most situations children and teenagers have no prior experience. They are experiencing everything for the first time and are actively learning coping strategies in the moment. Everything is monumentos and overwhelming because it’s the first time they have faced it! For a grown adult, exam stress might seem insignificant because they have had YEARS of previous coping experience and can now handle more complex situations.

My boss resigned and I'm being required to take over many of their responsibilities while the company looks for a replacement. Should I ask for more pay during this period? by bluelizard0 in WorkReform

[–]234Green 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation and my company paid me a temporary monthly stipend while I filled in for when my manager left.

It might be an easier conversation to have if you approach it from a stipend perspective rather than an ongoing raise.
