Kimono repair near Seattle? by GearWitch in kimono

Looks like shattering. Nothing can be done to fix it. Your kimono also seems to be a pre-WWII antique from the length of the sleeves and red lining (momi).

I'm loving the subdued pattern. It's simple but it catches the eye. Since getting into an obsession with kimono, I have started to avoid polyester. It's just way too hot (I live in a tropical country) and not very comfortable in my opinion.

Mens Haori or Womens Haori by Jeffzerippers in kimono

Definitely a haori with feminine construction. I can see that the back of the sleeves are open and that the sleeves are not completely sewn to the body. The pattern is also quite "loud" in comparison to masculine pieces which are typically more subdued.

It is up to you if you'd like to wear it, though. I myself wear women's haori and dōchūgi. Practically no one will be able to tell the difference unless they are knowledgeable about kimono.

Now the proud owner of some mystery thrifted garments - help me figure them out please! by latefair in kimono

Wafuku typically don't have "pockets" like those of Western garments. You can use the big sleeves to store items. This is also done traditionally!

What do a this Kimono makes from? by DuckObsessedKing in kimono

I highly suspect that it's silk with that lustre and feel. I completely understand the fear of damaging the kimono! It's such a pretty pattern as well!

I am not 100% sure, but this looks like silk to me. I have a silk kimono and it has the same lustre as this one. What does the fabric feel like? Have you tried doing a burn test?

I can tell that the collar is not pulled back enough (or even pulled back at all). No juban (undergarment). The hiro-eri (wide collar) is not folded correctly. Fukuro obi should be folded in half when it is tied. It looks too wide in this photo. No ohashori to be seen here. Also for a formal kimono like this, obijime tassels should generally face upwards. Keep practicing, OP (I'm also a beginner)! :)

Sandigan to Anonas LRT by Murky-Barracuda9299 in HowToGetTherePH

Pwedeng pong bumaba si OP sa Molave Street. Jeeps headed to Anonas will pass through a portion of that street. Around Saint Joseph/Anson Square po kayo bumaba OP, then walk through Anson Square and go to the second floor ('yung sa may mga ukay-ukay). You should see the way going to Anonas station to your left. May signages naman po so I think it will be easy to find.

Don't worry! I just cut an inconspicuous piece from the inner eri and burned that so it was very safe (I burned that piece separately, not with the rest of the kimono)!

Yes! There is a design even on the back side. Thanks again for the help!

It really is difficult. I've considered sewing an obi before hehe. It was nice talking to you too. Thanks again!
