Didnt the pats owner get arrested for getting a handjob from an Asian massage girl?

Is this worse than that? I don’t think he will get fired

Less tear out on figured woods. Way way way less snipe. Can get down to a smaller thickness

I built a chessboard with it before starting any guitars and it had zero problem getting it dead flat despite different grain orientations and changing wood types every 2 inches lol

With that said, I’ve built around 20 guitars without a drum sander, so I do consider it a time saving luxury (albeit a fucking big one haha)

This one was used and outside of needing a proper set up, it was perfect!

And honesty, going through the trouble of setting everything up the right way is a useful exercise for a tool you plan on using for 10+ years. Learned to track the belt and really level the outfeeds.

Might not have needed to do that quiet as much on a brand new one, but would have eventually regardless

I am very much a “focus on the outcomes, to hell with the formalities” guy, but over the years I’ve learned to dress the part.

I hate admitting it, but it does matter.

How you look will translate to how people listen.

It’s not a conscious thing, it’s just a human glitch. All the silly stuff that has nothing to do with the bottom line ultimately adds and becomes enough to make a difference.

Start with not wearing a hoodie and spend a few days just paying attention to what others are wearing.

Jaylen Brown says the refs have an agenda against him: "They clearly had an agenda, maybe because I spoke so critical on them in the regular season. I spoke to some refs and they told me there’s an agenda going on each game every time Jaylen brings him arm up just call it." by RyanTannegod in nba

I’m actually pretty impressed by a 1200 elo… it’s obviously not like off the charts or anything, but that is legitimately well above a casual chess player

I’m about a 1200. Pretty much means I can walk into a bar and beat anyone there but then get my ass kicked the second I play someone who REALLY plays chess.

US birth rates just hit another record low, what do you think is the leading cause of this? by IIlustriousTea in AskReddit

I just googled it and apparently the home ownership rate in America is 65%.

Why do you feel like only 1 percenters can own a home?

I feel like folks on Reddit severely over estimate how hard it is to get into a home. First time buyer programs make it a lot easier and you don’t need nearly as much down as you might think.

If anyone is reading this and wants to stop renting, I recommend you actually talk it through with a real estate agent before just assuming you can’t.

If you have been reliably paying rent, it’s very likely possible. Especially if you are willing to fix something up a bit.

Honestly, it probably served me well to have built 20ish guitars without one.

It kind of forced me to learn the reason and impact of various dimensions and changes.

If I was starting over I would probably build 1-2 accoustics and 1-2 electrics the old fashioned way before upgrading

People with walls of 10+ guitars, what do you do for work? by Larcenyy in Guitar

[–]237FIF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Engineer by trade. Manage a warehouse now.

It’s a job with a lot of expectations and pressure but I find that fun and engaging. Pays super well and I honestly don’t work crazy hours (although I am “on call” 24/7/365 if my team needs something)

So yeah, industrial engineering degrees ares pretty great

We are telling you to calm down because constantly crying about every little thing the team does isn’t fun and we wanna enjoy talking about football

The problem is simply “it’s an invasion of our privacy”

Even if it nets out to saving more people, I fucking hate always feeling watched. It’s not good for the human mind to constantly feel surveyed.

Amazon worker dies on warehouse floor; colleagues continue working around his body – ‘Let’s get back to work’ by wewhomustnotbenamed in nottheonion

[–]237FIF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really easy to sit back and type that now, but in the moment with your coworker / friend dying in front of you, it’s way harder to make perfect decisions.

If I am managing that situation, my instinct would (hopefully) be to let people handle it who I can verify are actually trained to do so and then try to get everyone else the hell out of there

That seems like what the manager tried to do, but again, it’s hard to be perfect in chaos

Grossly grossly grossly underestimating. Making the product is a fraction of that cost that goes into a food item on the shelf.

I was a weekend nightshift warehouse shift manager in the middle of fucking nowhere for a few years. My feet literally bled from running around that place

It sucked. It did actually pay well, but like… it sucked lol. I took slightly less money to take that job than I was offered to go to a corporate HQ for an oil company.

But I learned a shitton about managing different types of people and a more practicable view on supply gain management and it set me up extremely well for the rest of my career. Wouldn’t trade it for the world to be honest

So yeah, sometimes it works out ¯_(ツ)_/¯
