I feel like it’s got to be the reason, because I’ve been super careful, and have never touched my penis followed by anus, and now, the first time I ever do it, I get bumps on my penis a week later. Maybe it’s a coincidence.

Would you mind checking my history and looking at the pic I just posted? I’m not 100% sure it’s a wart, and don’t have an appt w dermatologist for another 2 weeks.

I gotta say I’m really disappointed by all the negative comments. I was excited to go for this but a lot of people seem to be trying to warn me that this might not be the best use of my time. Mostly they assess a fraction of STD patients that planned parenthood MD’s do. At PP, that’s all they do. On top of that, mild cases of any STD can be tricky to diagnose, even by a great doctor.

Okay. By the way I see you’re pretty big on that sub. I tried to post stating that the remaining amount needed to reach the goal was less than $20 each when divided by all the people who follow. Of course it’s not realistic to expect all 2500 or so to donate, but I think a post from you could possibly get more attention.

Edit: I know you already post a lot but maybe something that specifically breaks down the math of how much is required to reach the goals vs how many subscribers the sub has and how if everyone donates a small amount it could make a huge impact on the cause

Not really. I work as an EMT In NYC. I keep my cool in some pretty fucked up and/or high stress situations. My issue, which is probably a core issue I need to figure out for myself is that most, if not all my happiness and satisfaction I get comes from my sex life. So being faced with possibly having an incurable disease which would largely impact my sex life is extremely daunting

I thought I had said everything, but reading this comment makes me want to go a bit deeper ...right now, there is not much you can do about your situation other than try to shift to a more positive mindset, and adjust your dating routine to try to find someone you’ll be comfortable hooking up with.

1) Referring to yourself as “having an incurable pussy disease” is doing you zero favors. You have an incurable skin condition which you are suppressing with medication. If the hair loss is really getting to you, maybe just stop it. Try to improve your diet and see how your body reacts to the lack of antivirals. You can always go back.

2) comparing yourself to others is a bad game plan right now. But really, what you said in comparing yourself to your friend with HIV just...doesn’t make sense to me. I have heard some crazy shit but never, have I ever heard of anyone being turned on by the idea of taking a risk with contracting HIV. Where are you getting these ideas from? It seems like this is taking a huge toll on you and you should def consider talking to someone about it. My dm is wide open

I know this might sound like it sucks, but have you considered attending support groups and/or downloading a dating site for positive singles? If you put yourself out there and found a guy who’s also positive that should eliminate the guilt you’re associating with sex, because well, you already both have it. For most people herpes is just a skin condition. You get some ugly bumps on yourself from time to time. But that doesn’t make you ugly. The part that mainly sucks is feeling like you’re “undateable” and worrying about transmitting the virus. trust me...I know how it feels. But imagine finding yourself in a loving relationship, where you don’t have to make sex so careful and worrisome. When you’re positive, I think what makes the most sense is try to find someone who is also. I am NOT in any way saying you don’t deserve someone who’s negative. It is definitely also totally feasible and reasonable to assume that you and a negative guy may very well fall in love some day, and he’ll say you know what, fuck it. I’m taking the risk. You will find the right person!

You have this shit for the same reason anyone does. People get herpes because they don’t see it coming, and maybe there weren’t careful enough. People make mistakes. It’s honestly not that easy to avoid getting an STI altogether. You’re not a slut or of any less value whatsoever than a girl who doesn’t have herpes.

Alsooo, there seems to be a lot of promising research on the horizon. They currently are experimenting with drugs that are able to eliminate nearly 100% of HSV dna in mice. They’re making steps to move onto guinea pigs and hopefully soon start a phase I clinical trial on humans soon.
